Christmas in Quincy (The Edens)

prequel to the series
Christmas in Quincy is the prequel novella to Devney Perry’s new Eden series. Another Devney series we will want to binge no doubt! This short novella follows the story of Cleo Hillcrest and Austin Myles. Cleo has escaped to the beautiful small town of Quincy to spend Christmas on her own away from the fanfare of her family’s celebrations. Sent to retrieve her, Austin her father’s head or security, is a strapping, handsome man whom Cleo is harbouring a secret crush on. Fuelled by indignation and champagne the sparks fly between Cleo and Austin in this forced proximity romance. We’re introduced to different members of the Eden family around the hotel and the town as Austin and Cleo spend the holidays there. We both love a small town romance and I’m really looking forward to more books set in Quincy. The series starts properly with Indigo Ridge out October 26th.

Brilliant Xmas Novella and sucks you into Quincy and the Edens
Quincy, Montana is a fabulous festive setting and being a fan of small-town romances I was captured and completely enchanted by the Eden family.Cleo has gone to Quincy for a few days of solitude to avoid her father’s Christmas party and unexpectedly Austin Myles, part of her father’s security team appears at her hotel room door. She refuses to go with Austin back to her father's for Xmas so he decides to stay with her for a few days. They are forced to share a room as the inn is all booked up and there is no accommodation in the nearby area. They find themselves drawn to each other.I felt the ending was a bit rushed, he risked all for her after a few days of being with her which I am not sure was really realistic. They had known each other for longer but he had kept his distance.A short book but a great introduction to the Eden series and I did love it.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A great little pre-novella introducing us to the Eden's.
So i actually finished this after reading Indigo Ridge. But let me tell you... I'm already ready for more of The Edens!I've had this series on my tbr for quite a while now, and after getting fomo from seeing some of my bookstagram friends reading it, i knew i had to start it asap lool.Whilst technically i did start with IR, CIQ is classed as a little pre-novella which introduces us to some of the Eden's, who will be the main stars for the rest of the series. And it helped me realise who the 'Cleo,' that Knox mentioned in IR, actually is.This was a fun little starter with a bodyguard trope romance! I only wish it was longer because I would've loved tp have seen more depth development and chemistry between Cleo and Austin, as I enjoyed the small snippet that we did get.The forced proximity situation made me laugh, especially with how both characters were reacting towards it, and although you knew what was coming, you couldn't help but root for the situation to play out like it did.I hope we get to see more of these two, maybe in JH, but it would be nice to see them interacting with the Eden's at future dates.

Romance
Loved this story. Bakery owner Cleo is sick to death of the pretentious parties her Stepmother and Father have at Christmas. She cannot face another one so takes off to Quincy for Christmas. Her father panics that she may be harmed and orders security to bring her home. That did not go well, Cleo is a stubborn woman. She stays, he has to stay and the find love

Perfect Christmas Novella
This was so cute.I loved revisiting Quincy with this little novella. It was nice to meet Cleo properly after hearing Knox mention her and get her story.I loved the relationship between Cleo and Austin and how they, in the end, put each other above all else.

Short and sweet!
A bit of a novella and the prequel to The Edens series which begins next month. Not overly exciting, Cleo escapes her father's extravagant Christmas festivities and heads to Quincy Montana for three days; however her father sends her security guard Austin to bring her home. However Cleo digs her heels in for a change and the couple who have had feelings for each other for years are thrown together at this special time of year.It just really introduces us to some of the Edens to follow, and as I love the authors style I will probably read on!

First class
Although I loved the book, I didn’t think there was quite the substance that I associate with this author. Felt it could have been improved by the main characters having more interaction.

Great short read
It was a great short read to get to know characters and writing style. This is my first book to read by Devney Perry and is was so good. I love the sideline story lines along with the couple's story. I recommend and definitely will be reading more.

A new place to love.
A new place to love.4,5 stars.I’ve read everything this author’s written so far and I love every single book by her.She has this way of creating a magical place, dreamy characters and adorable plots, no matter how short or long the story is.And it wasn’t different this time. This novella starts a new series set in Montana, this time in the adorable Quincy. It’s a forbidden romance so sweet that I couldn’t stop reading until I reached “the end”.After having a huge crush on each other for years, they are forced to stay together during Christmas in Quincy, and the feelings they tried so hard to hide can no longer be ignored. It was adorable and so enticing.I can’t wait for more books in this series.

Cute novella in the best small town setting
This was the only book where the main characters didn't belong to the Eden family. It's a cute short novella that leads to some of the events of the other books, especially the second one.
