Q: A lot of recent reviews suggest these beans have changed. I bought them for years, but haven't bought for a year or so. Do they taste the same?

The bag I purchased a month ago had oily beans and appeared fresh. It taste a bit more on the almost burnt side than usual. So if you order now, you will get fresh bag. The one I bought before this bag, about 6 months ago , was not oily at all and was not as fresh. I actually started using another coffee when I ran out because it wasn't as good. I decided to give this another go because I have never been been glutened by this organic coffee. I drink this black and like a super dark roast, but this is almost too dark, but still okay.

Yes but this coffee is SO smooth and yummy you will love it. It has the crema like a good espresso without being as strong as any espresso

I've never had an issue with freshness with this product and am also a strong coffee brewer. I sometimes buy 6 lbs at a time so I don't run out. It's delicious.

Q: I am confused as the roaster no longer offers this size/blend on their site. Does Amazon have an exclusive on it, or are they old beans?

It's not very good coffee in my experience.

Color me Impressed

Got to say, this 5 lbs bag I just got and am drinking my first percolated cup and I love it.. Cheaper than the more expensive brands and taste very good.. Still learning coffees since I never use to give it much thought.. Threw away the drip coffee makers, was never impressed with any I have tried..Grinding beans with a burr grinder and using a percolator has worked out very well for me, still need to try pour overs and other methods.

It's good! Fuller flavor than some; still looking for the ideal...

I've been getting to know organic coffees lately. So far, I don't find them to be as rich in flavor as the ones that don't make the organic claim. I'm not sure if this is a matter of choices I've made, or if it's something of a standard.I've tried several, and other than wishing for a bit more richness, I'm not going to knock any of them; not even most non-organic coffees are as rich as I actually like.This coffee has come closer than others I've tried. I like it and could almost "love" it with 5 stars. However, I'm still looking for that ideal coffee flavor...

Great Coffee!

Can't go wrong with San Francisco Bay. I initially had a Keurig, and would regularly use the Fog Chaser cups as my morning coffee. But since I've upgraded my coffee drinking experience (by using both a traditional pot and a well defined cold-brew method), I've gone back to buying the whole bean organic rainforest blend and grinding it myself. This is great coffee, especially for the price.

Not really medium roast

Decent coffee with attractive price, but more dark than medium roast. I’m drinking it but won’t buy it again.

Love this coffee

Love this coffee. We started using a perculator to avoid the plastic taste from drip machines and even though this states it's not best for the perculating method...we think it's devine. Don't think we'll ever go any other way. I drink my coffee black so I need a good quality bean. This is not bitter or acidic. It has a nice bold flavor. Before using the whole beans of this product we used their single serve pods...good that way too.

Flavor OK - No longer at a good price point

Flavor could be improved a bit. Price now is too high.
