An Outstanding Best Buy High Quality Synthetic at Bargain Price From a Top Brush Manufacturer!
This Kent Infinity model (ISS01) Silvertex fiber fully synthetic brush is an outstanding brush in every way. A best buy! Gave me a great shave. This brush is a absolute bargain at 19.99 USD with shipping incl. It makes an excellent choice for a synthetic brush or shaving brush period; If you are looking for a very stiff and rough (exfoliating) brush like boar, or a very large brush (like a very expensive badger, although Kent has those too) then this is not the brush for you. This is an excellent performing brush of moderate size (not the smallest) with decent usable handle, knot and loft size that is quality made by an outstanding company well known for its shaving brushes that just happens to be a bargain to boot most fortunately for us wet shavers. It is much better then the others of (generally) mediocre quality and performance economy brushes in this price range and it is in a class above in quality and performance. Excellent choice for a first brush for a new wet shaver, for an experienced wet shaver who wants a synthetic with the advantages that it entails (hypoallergenic, great feel, dries fast, made/sourced in UK/West, no animals (badgers) killed if that matters to you), or for a travel brush (dries quick). Kent also has other excellent high end badger (BK4 and 8) and travel brushes for which they are reputed and well known. Has fan style shape. Brush tips are very soft. Medium to mild backbone. Wonderful Silvetex fiber designed for latharing. Fibers colored to look like badger and look fine. A well engineered and designed brush. Lathers very well, face, mug or bowl. A certainly adequate and acceptable size to get the job done, not too small. I was worried about that. No observed negatives. You can spend 2-1/2 to 5 times more and not necessarily get a better brush or shaving experience. Probably similar to most of the newer (better technology fiber) modern synthetic brushes now available as the technology like Silvertex has improved with these newer brushes from the initial synthetics from initial synthetic offerings, but I have not compared. Budget priced, but in a class well above and not lacking or compromising in quality or performance. Has Kent lifetime guarantee. Kent, renowned manufacturer of high end shaving brushes and other brush products has a very interesting history with its shaving brushes (see Kent site and elsewhere). Aesthetically attractive with classic looks and performance. Good handle shape and utility. Kent name, logo, reputation and quality. You cannot go wrong with this brush. I would not hesitate to buy this brush again or any other Kent product. From my own measurements (approx.): Loft: 50mm, Fan widest" 45mm, Handle ht: 48-49mm. Handle widest: 34mm; Handle base 31mm. Overall ht: 99mm, A great bargain. and seller! Purchased from Cuffs and Co. Pretty fast ship for Intl. Post UK to US West Coast - arrived much sooner than projected; About ten days - quite reasonable. Excellent condition, well packed. Customs no problem. Note: I am not connected to the seller or manufacturer in any way. Just very pleased with this brush purchase. I think the reviewer who had the bristles fall out must have gotten a lemon or the brush was damaged. Again the bush has a lifetime guarantee from Kent. Note of Caution: Never use shaving oils with any synthetic brush, only soaps and creams. Kent part no. 64619. Other synthetic brushes I did or would consider are Edwin Jagger, Muhle, Plisson, in particular, also the Omega S, Most of the other synthetics I eliminated for one reason or another. I think this brush is an outstanding choice in comparison of all the factors and at such a great bargain price. I don't think it has quite gotten the attention yet that it deserves in the wet shaving reviews and community.

Good dense shaving brush with stiff bristles
Like any other shaving brush with boar bristles, it needs to be cleaned prior to using it for the first time. My method is to simply soak it overnight in liquid soap / dish-washing liquid in a bowl - rinse it out completely the next morning and let it dry. If there is any residual odor, then repeat the process one more time and all the smell should be gone completely. The cycle of soaking and drying is what eliminates the odor - once the smell is gone it will not come back again. This shaving brush is made up of extremely stiff bristles and the wooden handle tends to absorb water - so one has to be careful about soaking the brush in water. I think drying it out properly in between cycles is the way to go. I have used it to shave my head and it has worked well in exfoliating my scalp when applying lather to my head. I might have to apply a layer of polyurethane to the wooden handle to help preserve it - hence the four stars as this should have been done by the manufacturer - a shaving brush is intended to be used with hot water and the wooden handle should have been protected. The price of this brush is very good and it is a large brush that works for the purpose for which it was intended. There was some shedding of a couple of bristles the first and second time around but that is standard for any shaving brush. All in all, this is a very good shaving brush.

Kent is the highest quality--period
Yep. That's me using a natural badger brush. Badger holds the water better. I don't know what to say..... I do have some synthetics but it just feels so natural and nice this brush. Take care of it and it will last so long it is ridiculous.Look, if you have a problem with real badger, Kent makes probably the best synthetic brush in the whole world. I bought one.I think--in my opinion- they, like, made special strands to emulate the barb-like structure that holds the water in real badger.Get a real one if it is just for the sake of comparison. Natural is OK. Only a fair share OK? We are also animals and not of the 'higher order'.Don't worry, nature will come knocking when the bill is due.

You get what you pay for
The item arrived in two pieces, the bristles had fallen out of the handle. Not a good look at all.

Best synthetic I have used
Okay, giving this 5 stars but mixed feelings about the brush. Push lightly while face-lathering and it is as soft as any silvertip I own, maybe softer. Push medium, pretty scritchy feeling. Push hard, this thing feels like it has fiberglass shards in and gets way too sharp feeling. At that point, scratchier and more abrasive than any of the 30+ shaving brushes I own. Definitely has a lot of backbone. However, the knot is a little too short. With more loft could definitely generate more lather. Seems to be on the weak side for generating lather compared to most of my brushes. Adequate, just not great. Would give it 4 stars, but considering it's a synthetic, dries quickly, and dirt cheap, giving it full 5 stars.

Decent, but not great
Maybe the larger size would be better to consider. The brush is okay and surely usable, and the bristles are soft and nice. The problem is, at least in the smaller size, that the brush is not easy to splay. This is when you push a brush down on your face and it's supposed to spread out. A great brush will be firm, but spread out easily in use. The small size I have didn't. When a $10 Omega Pro 49 boar brush is half the price of this synthetic and feels and works better I can't say this is a good buy. I gave it three stars because the bristles themselves are very nice- soft tips and some firmness. If you're vegan this might be a good choice. Also if you use the brush to paint lather on your face, it will work fine. I read that the larger size works better in use.
