Form meets Function in a Powerful and Beautiful Air Mover
We live in a 1950's ranch house in Northern California. We don't have air conditioning, and there are only about 3-4 times a year when it gets too hot for comfort. Rather than install central air, we have decided to invest in some decent fans. The last fan we purchased was the Rowenta stand fan. It's whisper quiet so we use it in the bedroom. We are pretty happy with it but it doesn't move a lot of air. Once the house heats up during the day, even after it gets cooler outside, the fan can't easily pull the air into the house and it takes hours to cool down the house, even when it's cooled down outside. This Vornado is a floor fan, aka "air circulator." After we purchased it, we used it in a living room about 20' by 14'. It's ability to move air is impressive on high speed. On a particularly hot night, we moved it to the bedroom to use with the Rowenta. Using these together really cooled the room quickly. This fan can push a lot of air and the Rowenta was tall enough to pull in air from the window. In the living room we have sliding doors, so the floor fan works fine.NOISE LEVELS: The fan is powerful on high speed, and you can hear it. It sounds kinda nice but is not "whisper quiet" on the high power setting. On the lowest setting it's very quiet...I had to turn the light on to see if it was turned on one night. You can adjust as needed...blast it to get the bedroom air moving for awhile, and then lower for sleep if you don't like white noise.FUNCTION: This thing is powerful...it moves air. Three easy settings...high, med., low. Very high quality, all metal construction (except fan blades...which are plastic for better engineering).FORM: The retro styling and the green color with gold accents is really gorgeous. This is something that you are happy to have sit in the room all summer...it's a beautiful little object. Great retro styling with safe electrical and grate openings (the vintage ones were much too wide for safety) But, be warned, you will be spoiled and will never want a white plastic fan again.SIZE MATTERS: I wasn't sure if I should go with the regular size or the "Sr" size. I didn't want it to be too big in the space. But since we were staring down a heatwave and I wanted to see it at its most powerful, I went for the largest size. So glad I did. It's really not large at all, but even a small increase in diameter greatly impacts air movement. Unless you want to put this on a table, go for the large size.WOULD I BUY AGAIN? I loved this fan so much I bought a second one a week later. Considering a third one.

Great fan, worth the money
I love this fan. The green is a blue green color. It's heavy, metal, very sturdy and gorgeous. Love the retro design and the fact that it's not just plastic. It puts out a ton of air. I'm definitely getting another one for my guest bedroom.

Solid
2 fan speeds. Low is silent. High is not silent, but also not obnoxious. Aesthetic is yes. Function is yes. Solid.

Cute!!!
I mean look at it!!! It's so cool. The small one doesn't move much air- it's decent, fairly quiet. It's in my RV. The larger one is much more powerful but also louder (motor) not terribly loud but definitely not quiet. The look is amazing. But the price reflects that. It's been running for a month straight in my living room- no issues.

Lovely fan, however quality control is not the best.
Fan looks great and works well for me. It's quiet, has a great motor, moves air the best of all my fans that size, good on power, solid as a brick, just great all around. However:When I got my first one from Amazon the paint was off color on the top and nicked down to the steel on the side. I RMAed mine instead of returning outright. So the customer service was very nice, and I got my new fan with good paint quickly, however the stainless steel cowl on the new unit was burnt. The heater unit they must have used to round up the edge of the cowl could discolored it like if you keep stainless steel cutlery on the burner. Good lord, 2 of 2 units are messed up in some way in finish!!! So I just put all the nice looking parts on one fan, and all the bad parts on the other and pitched that one. I also swapped out the cable and bushing on the back to look more snazzy like old time appliances. If you don't have OCD it's a super duper fan. If you do have OCD you need to do some work to get your perfect fan, and when you do, it is perfect.UPDATE:On the VFAN I needed it throw out I took it apart. The motor is more like something you'd see in a ceiling fan, but has about 40% less torque. You can see the bearings on either side of the rotor. It's made by Super Electric Motor LLC in Hong Kong. Not bad, in fact I'm impressed!

Cute style. Gets the job done.
Cute retro style. Only has two settings, but it gets the job done. The high setting is louder than I was expecting. But I just treat it like white noise. After a while you tune it out. Overall good fan. Have only been using it for a week or so. I have to have a fan on every night to sleep so we will see how it holds up over time.

Classic, elegant, quiet and almost childproof for little fingers
Firstly, I love the vintage design; stylish!!! It seems childproof, but nothing really is when one has inquisitive toddlers, but this item comes very close to perfect. Secondly, it is quiet. I hear no sound. The size is perfect for me, though there are any options available. My only regret is that I probably won't live long enough to use it as long as I typically wear my clothing--long time. I buy with classic style in mind and good quality, thus it is likely someone else will enjoy this little beauty.

A good little fan, this is not a large model at all
A bit smaller than expected but it is worth it in air output. I like it as it is sturdy and durable. It looks cool and works good for its small size. I would go with the bigger 3 speed version if you want full body cooling, this is more of a small desk wind in the face type fan. It is quietCons no auto oscillation, speeds are in backwards order 1-low, 2- high-speed, - off. Instead of correct Off - 1- low, 2- high-speed.
