Our cat is 16 and has started losing some body condition due to being uninterested in his food. We decided to start supplementing with this, and let me tell you, he LOVES it. I’m not sure it’s helping him to gain or maintain weight better, but he definitely has regained his zeal for his meals. He starts running down the hall, meowing as loudly as he can anytime he thinks he needs more! The smell isn’t too strong, and he obviously loves the taste!

Thank you for clearly identifying what "byproduct" is used in this food such as pork liver. Certain types of "byproduct" are very nutritional for cats and certain types are not. Corners get cut when corporations are allowed to hide things.This clarity is very important in a corporate age of profit margins and corner cutting.That being said, the cat wont touch this stuff and he's always hungry.

I'm giving it 5 and not a 4 only because it actually works for my 2 cats. Its expensive yes but I can deal with it when it means the health of my cats. I got one package that looked as if it went bad. It wasnt moldy but more solid as if something was off with it. It's hard for me to notice the weight loss because I see my cats every day but other people notice for sure. I feed each cat 1 can a day. They absolutely love the food. I was feeding them blue buffalo weight control for a few years and the only thing that did was control their fatness. I thought this canned food wouldn't work but it's doing great enough where I'm taking the time to write the review. People have to realize though.... you cant give your cat the ability to eat more than they need, because they will. Its easier in my opinion to do that with cheap dry food. When your paying 3$ a can per cat, per day, you'll see, that wont be a problem. It's not an overnight fix. It's gonna take a month prob before you start seeing results depending on the situation. I buy Healthy Cuisine in 3 different flavors (Chicken, Salmon, Tuna) and my 3 cats love them. Just the right amount of "stew-y", plus the ingredients seem higher quality (not a lot of fillers). The first ingredient listed is always actual meat (not by-product).

It's better for my cats than the cheaper crap you can buy. My cats love it too.
