A MUST HAVE for your active dogs.
We have had one of these balls for each of our 4 pittbulls for 8 years now. I mean, they are obsessed and look forward to playing with them 2 to 3 times a day - EVERY day! We have to peel them away each time. The balls sit in our lover field all year long! Finally, after all this time, we are down to 2 balls (and sadly, just 2 dogs as well), we need to replace them. Compare this to any other ball that literally lasts 5-10 minutes in our house! The balls got cracks in them from so much throwing around at all different temperature ranges over the years.HOW WE USE THEM:Some of the dogs chase their ball - pushing it around with their nose and totally yelling at it (hilarious!), some just want to horde their ball and lick it obsessively. At times, the dogs try to bite it - making ‘scratches’ in the plastic - which we just occasionally sand down with a hand-held orbital sander and 80 grit sandpaper to smooth it out some. The dogs LOVE LOVE LOVE when you interact with them and the ball. Aside from throwing it, we also lightly kick it around (with heavy hiking shoes to protect your feet) like soccer - but are always mindful of not kicking it to their face or body so they don’t get hurt. This is great fun for the younger and more athletic dogs. One of our dogs keeps a smaller squishy-ball in his mouth while playing soccer’.Our older dog likes when I play ‘tag’. This is a game where I announce ‘tag’ each time I lightly tap the ball toward him. This way he knows it’s coming and the game is for him to move out of the way so it doesn’t touch him. It took about 3 months for us to learn this game together. We also play ‘keep-away’ (good for middle-age and older dogs). In this game I announce ‘keep-away’ so the dog knows to chase me for the ball. I tap it away from them (not going very far) and they try to get in front of the ball. When they do, I turn and tap the ball away in the other direction. This is much less ‘active’ than the soccer play but still lets the dog be a part of the play time. I often mix this with the ‘tag’ game; switching back and forth between the two. They are so smart and can totally keep up!Hope this is helpful to people with active dogs. For pitbull parents: We have found these balls really help them get out all of that energy! We are volunteers in a pitbull rescue for 13 years now and have had 5 of our own. Some rescue dogs want nothing to do with the balls and some get WAY too focused on the ball … so it’s good to introduce them to it in a yard with no other dog and only if you already know they are not prone to resource-guarding and aggressive behavior.Anyway, only negative thing to say about the ball is that the customer can’t pick the color. Like, what the heck! Orange is best for our dogs but the new ones came red. Not enough contrast with the grass, IMO. I’m trying not to be disappointed but honestly, I am. This change is actually quite huge for our gang.UPDATE: our dogs have now taken to the new red balls with the same enthusiasm as the old orange balls.I also wanted to share that the smaller balls they prefer to have in their mouth while interacting with me and these hard balls is the “ ZippyPaws ZippyTuff Waggle Ball” but be sure to get the 3.5” ball NOT the bigger one.

Staffy/pitty owners-buy this!!!
After reading the reviews I decided to take a chance. I couldn’t be happier that I did! I own a 55lb named Finn who is the scourge of balls everywhere. He’s a staffy who takes toys labeled “indestructible” as a personal challenge. Seriously, most Kong toys last about 30-60 minutes. If he’s not interested. Needless to say, I don’t often buy balls like this because I need to also occasionally feed us & pay my mortgage but the reviews were too good to not at least give it a try once. This thing is absolutely amazing! I don’t know where they sourced the material it’s made of (Mars? An asteroid?) but he is obsessed with it! He has run an hour straight, herding it, nosing it into the air, biting at it and zero damage! This is, literally, the only toy in general, ball specifically, that he cannot bite & carry around with him! I had to half drag him into the house yesterday because he was clearly ok with having a heat stroke rather than stop playing with it!I agree with most other reviewers, this is an outdoor ball imho. It’s thick, heavy & if your puppers is bonkers like mine, things *will* get broken in the chaos! Don’t kick it, your toes will thank you!Cons-Non! Unless you have more than one dog that never stops, loves balls & you’re not expecting to get what you’re hoping for!

Fantastic ball for rough fur babes! Enjoys the challenge since he can’t grip it!
I have a pitbull/catahoula leopard mix and NOTHING we buy holds up! Most toys/balls are destroyed in minutes other than a few very very hard dog chews. This is the first ball that he can’t grip therefore can’t destroy so far. He plays with it for a long time and we think it’s the challenge of not being able to grip it.The only negative is that we did not get the color we picked as we received red and not blue, but it was the right size so who cares since it’s just a dog toy, lol… Our neighbor saw how much our dog was enjoying his ball so they also bought one for their pitbull/hound mix and their dog loves it and also hasn’t destroyed it! They also ordered the blue bigger ball and received an awesome bright orange color. Overall GREAT buy!!! Definitely buy one! Worth every penny! I posted a photo, but he goes nuts with this ball that I can’t get a clear picture, lol! He LOVES it!!!!
