Very Helpful Book
I've read lots of books on health and diet. The Switch by James W. Clement has been the most helpful for me. I really appreciate the information that he shares. I think I've been following quite closely his outline, even before reading the book; I was doing intermittent fasting, and it works for me. I tried carnivore, and it was not quite what I needed. I don't have autoimmune issues like some do. I like his list of "Unlimited Foods", I have to watch the oxalates, so the smaller portions list works for me. I do think macadamia nuts are way overpriced, and other nuts will work for me; I like his list of oils. I have been eating more fish, mostly wild salmon. I really feel good eating salmon and not so much beef. Wild caught salmon is expensive, but by cutting out a lot of other foods and supplements I was taking, I can do it. I appreciate his list of supplements. When I was eating KETO, my total cholesterol shot up to over 300. I have to watch my blood pressure, and I think it's important for me to keep my cholesterol down somewhat. I have always exercised a lot, and I like that he encourages exercise. I'm 80 years old, and I want to have the best health I can have as long as I can. I really want to thank James Clement for writing this book and sharing what he has learned about health and diet. All of his information is so appreciated. Thank you!

The Switch: A 21st Century DIY book on life extension, anti-sging, and rejuvination
This book is so good that my partner and I bought three copies; one for each of us, and a third for a physician friend.Your cells have a master switch controlling growth and repair versus damage removal. To make new repairs you must remove old damage. Years of buildup of un-repaired damage can promote cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s, adult onset diabetes, and aging itself. “The Switch” tells you how you can flip your switch to slow and even partially reverse your aging. These do it yourself anti-aging methods are simple, safe, inexpensive, scientifically sound, and include 23 pages of scientific literature citations.“The Switch” is a breakthrough 21st century anti-aging book! Durk Pearson (MIT 1965), scientist and co-author of the #1 million copy best seller, “Life Extension, A Practical Scientific Approach”"MURDER AT THE DUMP: THE CASE OF THE DEADLY LEFT-OVERS" Hmmm. The real title of this book is "THE SWITCH”, which explains two important processes that affect aging, one that promotes growth and largely speeds aging, while the other promotes waste removal, which is necessary for repair, and slows aging. With extensive documentation, the book shows how you can help decide which process is predominant at what time. This is the practical scientific approach for taking advantage of the switch.Live Long & Prosper, Sandy Shaw, B.S. Chemistry (UCLA, 1965) co-author, "Life Extension, a Practical Scientific Approach”

Great work but is it realistic?
First of all, I really enjoyed the book. The author clearly has the passion and has done the work to be considered an expert. The book is a fairly easy read that starts with the scientific studies and ends with the prescription for a lifestyle that will maximize one’s life. Here’s the thing . . . it’s a tough pill to swallow. The author is calling for intermittent fasting, keto diet and protein cycling all at once. While these methods are alternated and combined, the discipline required here is no joke.I’m convinced that he’s probably correct and I want to say that I’m starting this tomorrow, but I’m just not sure I’ve got it in me. For reference, I completed a 70.3 mile triathlon last year.
