OEM Upgraded Carrier Bryant Payne 3/4 HP 115 Volt Furnace Blower Motor HC45AE118 by Carrier, GE

Fast shipping, motor housing dented upon delivery and motor would not initially run without manual start up. The motor was installed in Bryant system to replace the original 17 year old motor. Also installed a new capacitor and squirrel cage at same time. The shipping only took three days to arrive. Upon arrival I noticed the housing was dented, I assume occurring during shipping though it appeared to be well protected, as I doubt a North America HVAC would send defective equipment? The motor shaft was very tight and would not spin freely but did move with some effort. After installing all the parts, the motor failed to start up. I surprised that since the motor shaft was tight I would manually spin the cage to get it moving. This worked and the motor took off and worked quietly. After the system cycled down, paused, then restarted, it failed to start again. Again I manually started it and raised the thermostat to make the motor work for an hour or so hoping this would break the motor in a bit and loosen it up. Yureka, this worked and now the system cycles without manual starting and runs quietly! One week in and all is well.
