Q: What is the fuel use per hour on the 18,000btu unit? how many hours runtime on say a 30lb tank?

I've run the "Buddy" heater with a label of 9000 BTU and it burns thru the small 1 pound tank on High in 3 hours. The 1 pound tank is about a quart of gas, so the 18,000 BTU unit on high will go thru about 1/2 gallon in 3 hours (or 1 gallon in 6 hours). So a 7 gallon tank (or 30 pound) should go for 42-45 hours. Others saying a gallon of propane gives 90,000BTU in theory are in the range where 18,000 is 0.2 gallons per hour using that math (or a gallon in 5 hours vs my suggested 6 above). Not sure where the error is from those not coming out the same, but they are close to each other. Maybe the labels like 9000 aren't the real heat I'm getting or I'm rounding up on the run time from 2 hour 45 min to 3 hours, but that should give you an idea.

Q: Can i buy the optional blower motor from amazon? can i get an extended warranty to supplement the 1 year warranty

Yes, I used the Mr heater blower. It's a little tricky to hook up the tstat disc, but worth it

Q: How long will a 20 gallon propane tank last running this heater on say low?

30 gallon tank in an 8 by 12 insulated shed for my dogs keeping it 80 degrees which is about midways on the dial between setting 2 and 3 about 4-5 days depending on temp setting you choose and size of room
