If they came up higher, to the narrow part of the waist, I think they'd stay up better. --Being slippery, they slide down and I have to pull them up. --The area behind my knee is not at all stretched. The fabric just sits there. I guess my knee is notably smaller than my thigh or calf, so the fabric behind the knee doesn't have to stretch. It feels a weird to go from tight to not and back to tight.
