Best gaming headsets I have owned!!!
I just received these headsets today early in the morning. I'm using it for my xbox 360 and my gaming PC. I have a few positive things to saw about this headsets. The headset are extremely comfortable. I don't really play much FPS games... I'm mainly play fighting games (Street Fighter 4 and Mortal Kombat on my xbox), role playing (Dragon Age and Mass Effect), and real time strategy games (Starcraft 2) on my PC. These headsets are best suited for FPS (First Person Shooter) since it will tell you exactly where your enemies are at by the sound of the footsteps... I don't really play that much FPS, but out of curiosity I figure I'll try it out. I was surprised how many enemies I was able to fine just by the sound of the foot steps... I was getting so much kills just by sneaking up behind them, after a while I was getting bored of it since it was too easy. This headset you have the capability to connect to your PS3, Xbox 360, and your PC. If you planning on getting it for the Xbox you would have to connect the Xbox live Talk back connector, this allow you use the microphone. PS3 and PC you can connect it through the Blue Tooth. If you don't have blue tooth you can find one here in Amazon which will cost around 10-14 bucks. On the PS3 works really well and it was easy to set up. The cool thing about these headset is you can pair your mobile phone into the headsets. You can play music or answer your phone while playing your game. I don't have to drop what I'm doing in the game and just answer the call by pressing the "BTFMB" Button to answer or just hold he button for 3 sec to ignore it.Before I bought these headsets I had a 5.1 home theater set up that I was using for the pc and xbox 360. Sound quality from those speakers were really good paired up with my Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD Internal Sound Card with THX SB1270 (for those of you who don't knows this card is consider to be one of the best sound card in the market). I was able to hear everything without a problem, but the only problem was I had to keep rearranging the speakers to my pc back to my xbox 360... doing that was a lot of work since my pc is facing different direction. You asking why I bother switching? I needed a heatset for the pc and xbox 360. I play video games late and since I live NYC it would be bothersome to other people who lives near me (yeah my surround sound is powerful), So I decided to buy a headset that gave you good sound quality and also be able to use it on different system like this headset. Sound was really great, but I couldn't just ignore the static since it would constantly appear while playing. I checked the manual for trouble shooting section... From what the article is saying "A wireless base station or wireless LAN are causing a lot of RF activity that's blocking the RF signal transmitter." I disconnect my router since I only use the wireless router for my iPad and just directly connect the cable modem to my pc to see if that would resolve the problem, but no luck.So far, my only gripe is the static signal that you'll get once in a while. The customization is cool, but it's mostly meant for FPS games. I wouldn't recommend these headsets to a friend, unless you going to use it mainly for FPS games. In my opinion is not really worth 250 bucks (I really got it for 213 bucks, but in most retail stores they are 249.99). I'm debating on returning them and get get myself a wired headset since the PX5 have given me problem on the static sound. Sound quality, comfort, able to pair mobile phones, and connectivity to PC, Xbox, and PS3 is a huge plus for me since I own all of them, however if you don't mind a few static sound or if you don't have any wireless device that connected to your router, I'll say go for it... it will be a great investment towards your gaming. But, in my position I have my iPad connected to my router at the moment and since I tried direct connection It still gives me few static (yeah I disconnected my wireless router). If someone can tell me how to fix this problem I would greatly appreciated.::::UPDATE 5/31/2011::::Finally fixed the static problem... I moved my router far away from the receiver as possible and was told to mute the mic if you are not using it which will reduce the static sound. Now I don't have any problem with the mic anymore... Thanks to the person who responded to the review!!!

Great but still needs some work
A little history on my experiences with Turtle Beaches. I started out with the XL1 Turtle Beaches about a year ago and they were the first pair I owned. I loved them. Playing Search and Destroy on Black Ops and being able to hear the bomb being defused or planted. It was awesome. I saw the PX21 at GameStop for about $10 more so I returned the XL1 and bought those and loved those. For my 18th birthday, my dad asked me what I wanted. I really had no idea. I asked if we could go to Best Buy and look around to see if there's something I wanted to get. I honestly still had no idea. I pretty much had everything that I wanted. Then I saw the Wireless 7.1 X41's and told him that's what I wanted. Having that Dolby 7.1 was amazing. It made all games sound great. Although I wish they could handle more bass. They seemed to crack a lot. I really didn't mind it all too much. I couldn't stand the battery life. I had bought rechargeable AAA batteries but they'd burn through those very quickly. I'm a huge Gears of War fan. When I saw the Tritton 7.1 Gears of War 3 Edition, I had to get them. I sold my x41's to my buddy and bought those. They sounded great. I wear glasses and they were always comfortable. They had 8 speakers in both ear cups and the bass was terrific. I listen to a lot of Hip-Hop and Rap and they handled the bass very well. I just got sick of all the cords fast. I had those Trittons for about 5 months or so and was sick of the wires. I sold those and have had these Turtle Beach PX5 for about a week now. What I like:- Sound is great. Not a huge step up from the X41's. Sounds about the same.- The presets you can have and download from the website (they have one specifically made for Dead Space and it's made from the creators of Dead Space. It makes it ten times more scary). Just install the software, follow the directions on how to download, plug the Turtle Beaches into your computer, upload and your set. It is great if your play more than 1 game.- The Bluetooth is a great feature. I have a Smartphone and whenever someone is calling while I game, I just click a button and it mutes your mic for Live and also mutes the people talking on Live. You just talk to whoever is on the phone. I would miss calls with my Trittons.- Takes AA batteries. The battery life is great for these. I don't need to change them all the time.- Spending the extra $30 for the XBA Bluetooth Adapter for my mic was a great investment. I don't have to have a cord hooked up to my controller and my Turtle Beaches. I'd always get the cord caught or would snag it on something. You're completely wireless with this, making it a lot more comfortable. What I don't like:- Uncomfortable with glasses. They seem to press hard against my glasses and after half an hour or so, they start to hurt the side of your head because they push your glasses tight onto your head. Warning people who wear glasses, these suck with glasses. I didn't need to worry about that with my Trittons. My Trittons had a really nice foam material that was comfortable.- Apparently, these are suppose to tell you when your battery is low. They've told me once that they were getting low, but for the last two times, the Turtle Beaches died on me without it saying it. I'm not too sure if it was from the XBA Bluetooth Adapter or if it's just a flaw?- Bass could be better. The Trittons had the best sound a best quality I've heard so far in Gaming Headphones. These sound very similar to the X41 and could be improved. To sum it up, I'd tell my friends to buy these. I paid $212 but I think they should be worth more around $180. The Trtittons sound better and have better quality, but too many wires. I love being completely wireless, sound is still great, Bluetooth is awesome on these, and the presets make these amazing. And for that I rate these 4 out of 5 stars.EDIT 10-24-12:After having these for about 6 months, I've figured out that you need Alkaline Batteries in order to get the "battery low" prompt. I looked into it a few weeks after I got these. So you can use regular rechargeable batteries but those will hold battery then die right away, where as the Alkaline Rechargeable Batteries will slowly die. I am now selling these PX5's. Having to replace and change your batteries really started to annoy me. They'd last me a good 4-8 hours of gameplay, then die. I'd be right in a middle of match of either Call of Duty MW3 or Gears of War 3 and I'd have to replace the battery. I do wear glasses so after an hour of wearing them, they start to push on my side and pinch my glasses into the side of my head. They're not very comfortable for long time use. I love having all the EQ's on my PX5's and I'd play with a different one for each game but having to change the batteries really bugged me. I would recommend these to a friend still, but for serious gamers who play a lot and spend long hours playing, you're looking at the wrong headset. Get a wired. I feel these should be for Casual gamers. I finally decided just to go ahead with the new Tritton 720+ that are wired and 7.1 Dolby Surround. They are designed for comfort and are nice. No more having to worry about changing any batteries. I'd give this about a 3.8 out of 5.

Solid Product
Sound quality is excellent, treble is smooth and clear, bass is deep and penetrating like with a sub woofer (no it is not the same but damn for a set of headphones its close) and having the ability to stream from the tv/game console as well as a Bluetooth device is an awesome bonus. The first game I played was "The Last of Us" and my god having these headphones on sucked me right into the game universe, the footsteps of people and zombies/infected running behind you, the far off screams of those unfortunate enough not to escape from the hordes of undead, the distant sounds of explosions... truly an all new experience with these headphones. The only downside is battery use. After plowing through an 8 pack of high end AA batteries in no time at all I invested in some rechargeable batteries instead. Now I've got no complaints, on average I'm getting between 8 and 12 hours of use out of the headphones before needing to switch batteries. Definitely a solid investment if you want high end sound quality but don't want to disturb the rest of the household.

最高です!
最高に良かったです。FPSで足音が分かる。音質最高!欠点は電池の消耗が早い所です。

Great heatset
The only negatif point is that you need to buy 20$ of rechargeable batteries AA(4) and a charger for 10$. The 7.1 surround sound is great but i got few complaints about the microphone making noise in DCUO (only). The headset will only work properly if your PS3 is wired, if your PS3 is wireless you will get lag if you play online the sound of your microphone will be horrible.

Pops clicks, useless
Regardless of how many wireless devices are running in my condo, this thing pops and clicks all the time. Turned off everything, router, laptop antennas, smartphones, not a single other wireless thing running in the condo except the Xbox wireless controller and a single bluetooth antenna. All at least 2 feet away from the base. I'm sitting 3 feet away from the emitter. I've had these for over a year and never managed to enjoy wearing them. Not once. Maybe these are good in the middle of a desert.
