Lonely Planet Amsterdam (Travel Guide) Paperback – May 17, 2016

I have read the whole book, marking my interests for upcoming trip to Amsterdam. This book has everything I need for a visit well planned (this and a few tours via Viator). The city map also helps me plot places of interest, from museums to bicycling and walkng routes, to stays, cafes and restaurants, and entertainment. I plan to take it with me.

Since I'm in my 60s, this may have been my naive mistake, because the information seemed to be pitched toward a younger crowd who might care less about cultural context and more about food and drink.That said, there's also another major problem: Its indexing process is over-complicated. You don't just once index at the back, but many: food, entertainment, streets, hotels, shopping, etc. All the indexes are very likely reliable, but when you just want to look up something simple, it takes too long to find the right index, etc.

We found it useful for detailed explanations of the tourist attractions which interested us.

My husband and I have traveled to many different countries over the years and we find that the Lonely Planet guides give us the best and most extensive information possible. I highly recommend this guide

I love to use Lonely Planet travel related books since 1986. They have never let me down.

I got this travel guide along with Great Britain - both have lots of information about tours, sights and many alternative suggestions that fit your budget. I love it!

Invaluable guide to take with you, with great detail. Very useful to have and plan days around certain areas of Amsterdam, or suggests an itinery for 2-3 day breaks. Also a great general information section allowing you to take into consideration other day to day aspects ie the local transport system etc

The book is great however was also offered the book on kindle since I had purchased the paperback version. The only 'book' I received was a 'sample'. I also cannot find any help and support on Amazon to assist with my issue!!!!
