My very fair son (think of a glowing white moon) takes surf camp in the summer (we live in So. Cal). The first year he had to skip at least 1`day to give him a rest from the sun and to let the burn heal. Even in a full suit the face, neck and hands are still vulnerable. The surf camp instructors told us about Vertra, they wear it every day. It Works. Really, really works. My son has not burned since we started using it. Even in waves, surfing, getting tumbled, boogie boarding, playing on the beach and sweating. Has to be reapplied a few times during the day, but it works. No burn. Wish we had found this product years ago. The expense is more than worth it, especially when we think about the risk for skin cancer. There are other good blocks out there, but none as effective as Vertra. Ask a surfer.

I have been searching for quite some time for a "tinted", waterproof, sweat-proof sunscreen and think I finally found it in the Vertra SPF 35 Sports Sunscreen. I live in the South where summers are hot and humid and regular sunscreen and makeup can just melt off my face in no time; plus I have oily skin to boot. I "love" the fact this sunscreen stick comes in the natural beige shade too, because that is the shade of makeup I usually use. I just wash my face, put on some oil-free moisturizer and then swipe the Vertra Sunscreen stick over my face and blend in with my fingers. I do top it off with some loose mineral powder with sunscreen for additional oil control. The only drawback is the price, I have noticed it is cheaper on some other sites by a couple of dollars so may order from them instead in the future. Wish this site would get the price down some as well.

I learned about this product at my daughter’s surf camp and have been using it ever since! I use it as a concealer, and cover up. The SPF is an added bonus. I use it before hiking - it’s a sun-block and it covers up the early morning dark circles. I wish that it came in more shades. This works for me most of the year, but I sometimes have to use Shiseido’s stick. I like the consistency of this one better!

I'm currently on accutane and normal foundations crack and flake off my face. I decided to give this spf stick a try. I had seen a video about a day in the life of a ballerina and she used this as a foundation for on stage because of how well it stays. I've been using it for a week now and I love it. It goes on smooth, matches my skin color, and blends nicely. It's just the right amount of cover I need and it stays on all day. I bought natural beige and normally i wear very fair foundation if you're wondering what color to get. Cheers!

My dermatologist surfs and does half his face in other sunblocks and half his face in Vertra, and get the best results from Vertra. Super thick, made for the ocean. Surf - ready, the best sunblock for surfers. None can imitate; all other sticks have the wrong consistency!

I recently got a shoulder surgery and the cut is about 7" long. Normal sunblock would not have done the job as it would run off as I sweat. My fiancé is a surfer and uses this on his face. He also uses Zinka as well, but he prefers Vertra more. I decided to give this a try and place it over my fresh scar and it covers. I tested this product out and went biking. Gave it a good sweat and it stays on. I place a light jacket over it and for the most part it stays on. What I also love about this product is the color. It blends real good on my skin and it doesn't stick out like the bright color Zinka uses.
