My least favorite Chacos.
I consistently wear a size 6 in Chacos and the first pair of these I had to return because the straps were just too tight. I have a slightly wide foot, and the width was OK, but I also have a high arch and that caused some of the top straps to be pretty tight. So I exchanged for a size 7. I think a 6.5 would have been perfect since the 7s are a little long. And even though some of the straps are tight and some are comfortable, I have a hard time keeping them on my feet - the bottom is very smooth and they slide off easily. Oh, and the arch support is not at all what I would have liked in Chacos - WAY lower than their Z line of sandals. Honestly now that I've had them a while, I wish I would have exchanged them for the Dorra sandals in black. I have the Dorra in brown and love them. But since these are leather I'm still hopeful they will mold to my foot as I wear them more.

Beware skinny footed people.
I LOVE Chaco's so I decided to branch out and get these sandals. I love them EXCEPT...my foot seems a little narrow for the shoe (which I have never had narrow feet before). I literally walk out of them at times! I was pumping gas, finished and when I swung my leg up into my Toyota 4-Runner the shoe went flying under my vehicle. The guys waiting behind me to move so he could get gas was a little entertained by me trying to get my sandal out of under my car. The foot bed just seems a little slippery too. They are comfortable so I wear them for hours with no issues!

very pleased with these sandals
I've worn these sandals for approximately 2 months, on a semi-regular basis. The fit is very true to size. I typically wear an 8.5 or a 9, so I purchased the 9 M, and they fit perfectly. My only tiny complaint is that after a couple hours of wear, the black straps leave black marks across the top of my feet. Not a deal breaker by any means, but I have had to explain the lines a few times after removing the sandals upon entering someone's home. Overall, very pleased with these sandals.

Almost right
I am trying to replace a similar pair of Papillio by Birkenstock pair of slip on sandals. The support is less then Birkenstock, but still ok. They seemed well made. I usually wear size 8.5 but size 8 Chacos. These size 8 were almost "just right", but they were so narrow that my pinky toe was smushed. Not only width-wise but the first strap was at the top of my pinky toe, not very esthetic. They went back. If there was more support, I would have exchanged them for a bigger size.

These are adorable shoes and I am sad I can't keep them
These are adorable shoes and I am sad I can't keep them. I have too many foot issues for these to be comfy to wear. I LOVE my regular fabric strap Chacos- I have two pairs and wear them every day in the summer. My fabric Chacos do not go around the toe and I think that is my problem with this shoe. Too flip-floppy and they really bugged my toe. My dr. said I could never wear flip flops again and I was hoping these would be different as the foot bed is comfy- but overall the shoes is not. I wish they had some with just straps across the feet so we could enjoy the foot bed without having it feel like a flip flop. Oh well!

Really comfortable and I can tell they are well made and will last me a long time. I have thick feet (and I'm pregnant right now) so they are pretty tight on my feet but I'm sure part of that is to do with the swelling and I'm sure they will break in a little bit. If you have normal feet these will probably work great for you. I have never owned a sandal that was this comfortable and well made

Pretty and practical
I am glad that I bought these sandals. I have considered brown leather to be boring and basic, but sometimes that's just what you need. Many sandals that are good for walking in look very rugged, so you can't wear them with more refined styles in the city - but not this pair! I won't be wearing these on ship decks or for extending hiking in the wilderness, but I think these sandals could withstand that if necessary. More to the point, they are great for walking around the city, but they are also pretty. I would consider buying another pair in a different color when I need a new pair of sandals.

True to size guide for standard foot. Needs breaking in!
Update: After breaking these in for a couple of months, and wearing them to work daily, I took them on a 4-5 mile walk, and ended up with painful extensor tendonitis (I never have foot issues so I was very surprised). The straps have not loosened over time like others have suggested. Maybe it takes longer. This 7M fits my size 7.5 foot exactly. If someone is closer to a size 8, or has a wide size 7.5 foot, I'd recommend sizing up. These are fairly comfortable so far, but will need some significant breaking in. The top straps are slightly tight, i.e., you can't just slip your foot in, hands-free. You need to adjust the straps by hand in order to wiggle your foot all the way in. I think this will be fine in the long run, as other reviews say that the straps loosen over time to the point of being too loose. Note that I've got a blister on the bottom of my foot from these after a 1-ish mile walk, so I'd recommend a couple weeks of wearing them around the house or to work w/ minimal walking in order to break them in before any long hikes.
