Malibu 3100-1300-01 300 Watt Low Voltage Transformer, Photo Eye Sensor and Timer

Works great, much nicer than the twenty year old unit that finally went out.

This unit is garbage. The company has had some quality transformers but this is not one of them. New product, new owner, new management who knows but it's not made like the Malibu units used to be. When this arrived there were loose parts rattling inside. The seller convinced me to repair rather than return, which I did with little difficulty. It worked well for a few weeks, then the sensor started acting erratically. Then it stopped coming on at all. Sometimes the reset button would work, sometimes I unplugged and plugged it back in and it would work but now it's not working at all again. Sometimes you just have to give up on an inferior product. I don't recommend this unit at all. Buy an older model if you can find it or go with another brand, these have declined dramatically in quality.

I bought 3 of these transformers, cable and lights and 2 years later, two of the systems don't work at all and with the third, regardless of setting, the lights are either off or on 24-hours a day even on the photo timer setting. On top of that, half of the lights don't work either, even with replaced bulbs. Buyer beware. This is either planned obsolescence at its worst or just a very poor product from the transformer to the lights.

"I got this transformer as part of my 50W floodlight kits from home depot, its been 2 years and has been working flawless. I have it mounted on the way, about 2 feet above the ground, like the manufacturer recommended min. 12". As long as no water gets in, these work great. I am happy with it so far. Photo eye feature is great with no changing time manually

I have two of them and both sopped working in less than a year.
