My kids are crawling/running around everywhere so we needed something to keep them in. I had a different gate before but they were able to open it.Pro- about this gate:The unlock feature is multi step so children likely won’t be able to.Pro:Lengthy gate, if you need to cover more open space (wider doorway)Pro:Fairly simple install, I installed into wall and it comes with every piece you need for the installation,Pro:Sturdy, has not budged even though my kids have been pushing on it.

I needed this as a way to keep my two dogs from wandering into the kitchen or jumping on me as I came in through the front door of my apartment. As you can see from the attached picture, I have a somewhat strange setup for where I needed this gate. A pressure-mounted one would not work. I spent days (literally) searching through the different options on Amazon looking for a gate that would allow me (1) to screw-mount the gate, (2) to have mounts that did not have to be directly across from each other, (3) to have removable panels so as not to take up unnecessary space.This is one of only 2 or 3 gates on Amazon that allows you to remove and rearrange the panels. I went with this one because it was affordable, the mounting system allowed me to not have to drill into the baseboard, and the mechanism for opening/closing is better.This took me about 45 minutes to set up, but that was mostly due to tinkering with taking panels off and rearranging them. It wasn't difficult, just a bit time consuming. If you have an easier setup I imagine you could install this in 15 minutes or so. I do wish it came with extra wall mounts for even more setup possibilities, but overall this is an excellent product. It is sturdy and I am confident my 40lb dog won't be knocking this thing down anytime soon.I have to say I am quite impressed with how customizable this gate is. As you can see in the picture, I was able to leave out a section of the gate so I could access the step lever for my trashcan with my foot without having to go around. I would 100% recommend this purchase to anyone who needs a longer gate with great customization options.

Works for the space I have but it is flimsy and not sturdy at all. Everything is tightened correctly. All screws are put correctly. This thing just wobbles back and forth.The door needs to be slammed somewhat to close properly. If you just open and walk away, it won't close like their other small baby gates. I have a smaller gate from this brand and it works really good, but this one is flimsy.But like I said it works for now. I couldn't find a cheaper extra wide gate that would fit my space.

Updated review:We really like the first one we bought, so we ended up buying two more. It's a premium 3-panel gate, and nearly every component of it is sturdy. You can remove one of the panels if you want to shorten the length.However, there is one huge flaw with the gate (watch the video), and we hit that on the 2nd and 3rd gates we bought. The gap between the lock and the gate is sometimes big enough that you can easily open the gate simply by lifting it without pressing the buttons. Our baby did that within an hour of installing the gate. I tried readjusting the sides of the gate but found it impossible to reduce the gap.It's quite a shame because besides that flaw, this is a premium gate. I'm not sure whether they got damaged during shipping or whether there's a manufacturing flaw.Fortunately, the seller was kind enough to send another replacement worked perfectly.

The design team for the gate deserves more than five stars. They designed a gate that works, flawlessly and securely. They made some hard choices. One was to anchor (I mean ANCHOR!) the gate to walls (rather than rely on pressure). Another was to make the ate a foxed length—adjustments are done by changing the gate’s geometry. (Look at the pictures.) A third was to design a latch for the door that will not open by itself, nor could a toddler open it. (Hint: Life up, then slide the thumb latch.) The fourth was to make it removable. (Hint: push the bottom pins upwards with a flat screwdriver, not with your fingers.)I’m used to products that barely work, as if no one on the design team used it. Think: a toaster that no designed made toast with. This gate is the opposite: Some designers obviously lived with it.I’m using it for a 10-lb puppy, mounted on either side of French doors. The door frame had (guess) 3/4” wood to screw the brackets into. I suspect that, when blocking stairs, it might be best to attach the mounting brackets to blocks of wood. Dry wall isn’t really strong.Check the pictures. If you can live with the geometry, get it and relax. It works.
