Q: What kind of projects are featured in this book? I'm looking to learn how to crochet afghans and amigurumi.

Includes several afghan designs, toys, hats, a pillow, pouch. Of course you need to supply your own yarn - for the price. Great learning book since it shows the stitches closeup.

Q: Is this a good product for someone who has never even picked up a hook? Is it good for somebody just starting to learn?

I bought it for my daughter who never picked up a hook, so I would say yes.

Q: Are there any published corrections to the patterns in the book? Some seem to be missing some instructions.

I haven't started using it yet, but I did buy a DVD that will help me more than the book, I think, after reading your question.
