In a time when new themes and mechanics are hard to come by, Barrage is a breath of fresh air, worth its weight in gold for heavy euro boardgame fans. Assymetric worker placement with a novel rondel building mechanic in which your resources, excavators and cement mixers, return to you after they are done, integrates beautifully with the hidroelectric theme. Choosing what and where to build redirects water flow and affects opponents in different interesting ways, creating a crunchy brain burning puzzle. I am having a blast even though my box came with a dent, a tear, a split corner and one broken token...
