Q: Steam not working as described

The engine we bought for our grandchildren, does produce steam, and it does produce smoke. However it does take a little while to start producing steam, also the starting process takes a little longer than the other Brio engines, the instructions say to hold down the start the engine. Once started it runs for about 5 mins, also important to use the correct type of water, we use steam iron water, which produces a pleasant smell as well as steam!

Q: How easy is it to change the batteries? Is there a small fiddly screw?

It is easy to change the batteries on the loco, it does have a single screw on the rear of the engines cab, this is easy to access. The most important point is to ensure the batteries are inserted the correct way round. Generally the batteries last a reasonable length of time and the engine operates very well.

Q: Does this engine also have sound effects?

No sound effects but does have lights that flash. And the steam is brilliant
