8 Pcs Wooden Pottery Sculpting Clay Cleaning Tool Set, Includes Clay Cutting, Modeling, Trimming Tools.

Pottery teachers- these are not what they look like, nor what you think they should be. I ordered 58 of these 2 packs to give out as tool kits for my students, and will be returning all of them.51 of the pairs have PLASTIC tools, and the other 7 are super low quality- no where near the quality they show in the picture.The listing advertises WOOD and stainless steel construction...3 of the 8 tools in the kits are PLASTIC.The Needle tool is plastic- I can bend the whole tool, handle and all with one hand. The pin in the end might be stainless- but its fairly dull compared to the actual stainless steel one they show in their picture.The handles on the wire cutter are PLASTIC.The handle on the loop tool (the section between the 2 carving ends) is PLASTIC.The metal rib/scraper is paper thin- possibly half the thickness of what you would expect one of these to be.The only actual wooden tools are the Large loop tool (pear tool, avocado head tool, bird head tool)- which is more round than they advertise in the picture.The loop tools are dull- which will hardly be useful for trimming on the wheel.Don't buy these.

I recommend purchasing this if you are a beginner building your tool kit. As a beginner, I can only speak to how they perform for someone learning the craft.I purchased this tool set for a virtual ceramics class. I am a beginner with no clue of what the tools are or how to use them. I found it to meet my needs as I learned techniques to use in creating my pieces.I requested help from classmates to identify my tools and how to use them. Experienced classmates were impressed with the types of tools included in this set finding it to be comprehensive and a great value for the price.

You'll want to upgrade to something better after your first time using these. The wood quality is pretty bad and you won't get straight, smooth lines on your ceramics. And I wish the metal plate wasn't tapered at the ends, and was straighter so I could press it all the way to the bottom of the base. The wire cutter is good, though. And the scraper tools are decent. I knocked down a couple stars mostly due to the fact that I needed to buy all the wood pieces elsewhere which reduced the value of these. I would've just bought a higher quality set in the first place.

These are really inexpensive and about the same quality you would get from Hobby Lobby or somewhere in the beginning tools, but they cost more in store. They're not great quality by any means, but they'll do the trick if you're ballin on a budget and just getting started. I have much nicer tools too, but they were also a lot more expensive.

I'm not sure what type of wood the wood tools are made of, but they collect mold. My students washed their tools then placed them in the bag. So the sponge was squeezed out and bag left open until next class.I was horrified to find several of the students had mold on their wooden tools. I gave this a 2 star for sturdiness because the wood obviously doesn't hold up to water. A 2 star for value because all these wood tools need to be upgraded to a better wood for the rib and sculpting tool.

I liked that these clay tools were two sets so I could share with my kids and have enough tools for us to use without having to buy multiple sets. The tools themselves seem study and practical for their purpose. Just what you need for a beginning clay class (which is what I am taking!). I am pleased with my purchase!

I bought this tools for my nephew. He is on 8 years old and very like to play with me when I go to visit him. I think pottery is a very good option to play with kids. This tool sets are for basic job and they have 2 packages which is more valuable than others. I can play with my nephew together. They definitely will get you started and do the job. But don’t let your trimming tools stay wet they will rust fast. They all work great and very feel well-made. They do exactly what they are supposed to do and are half the cost of the set I would have had to buy through offline stores! They're not aesthetically perfect.

This double set is a great value for your money. I bought this set for a friend and myself, as we started visiting a pottery studio. Each set comes with everything you need as a beginner. Our local craft store would have been so much more expensive.
