It's a no-brainer.
So I was watching a video the other day and how to change the oil on a car i recently purchased used. And when they change the oil instead of using the drain plug they use this pump. This is the first time I ever seen something like this use before. It was so simple. It kind of blew my mind. Why isn't this a more popular way of changing oil?It takes out a big step of where most people make a little mess of oil and spill it on the concrete or whatever. This just sucks it out and puts it in a oil container. The first time I use it and kept on shutting off and that it was due to not use in the clamps that it supplied with the pump. At first I thought oh it seem like it would be a snug fit and it wouldn't have an issue but they kept on shutting down. I couldn't figure out why and then I put the clamps on and I had zero issues. So far I've used it on two vehicles. First one had the issue of the pump shutting down but it did get all the oil out eventually. The second time I used it was just yesterday and I use it on my minivan which holds six and a half quarts of oil. At first I didn't think it was going to work because I kept on shoving the plastic tubing down the dipstick hole and it would just keep on going until I ran out of hose.I ran the pump anyhow and it sucked out six and a half quarts of oil. The only thing is I still had to get underneath the vehicle and remove the oil filter but that's pretty easy and not as messy. I got to say it was probably the easiest oil change I've ever done. I would highly recommend this to anybody. I don't know how long the longevity is going to last on this product but if it lasts me a few years I would be totally happy. I do drive Uber and I do my own maintenance. This just speeds up something I have to do pretty much every month and a half to two months. Altogether we have six cars and I am going to use this product on every single one. If anything fails I'll come back and see if I can change this review and mention but, so far so good. We have six cars all together so lots of oil changes to be done. I will try and update this review in about 4 to 6 months. By then I should have changed all the vehicles oil.

Changing oil at home is much less messy
Home oil changes generally require jacking the car up enough to reach and remove the drain plug, which is a five star pain. Odds are good you will drain some oil on yourself or the driveway. Recently, some small engine manufacturers decided to omit a drain plug to save a penny or two. Rather than changing filthy oil, they recommend only adding oil to bring the level up. This stupidity will shorten engine life dramatically. Before oil pumps became readily available, you had to tip the engine over to drain the oil from the filler tube. You probably would use a few magic incantations as you spilled dirty oil all over. This pump makes it easy to drain the oil by simply pumping it out. The instructions say to run the engine for five to ten minutes to heat the oil in order to have it flow easier.I changed the oil on a snow blower, a pressure washer, and two lawnmowers in an hour with no issues at all. I just put them included small diameter hose down the oil fill tube and the included larger diameter hose into a waste container and turned it on. Since the engines only held about a pint each, the pump out only took about 30 seconds.Make sure you use the included hose clamps to fasten the hoses to the pump. I forgot to mention that you must hook up the power from a battery to the pump. If you can put batteries in a flashlight, you can wire the pump. The only improvement I would recommend for the manufacturer would be examining the hose connections at the pump to try to eliminate kinking. If you are a do-it-yourselfer you should have had this pump years ago.

Works Great and Easy to Use
Just received Oil Change extractor pump and tried it for the first time to pull some transmission fluid from my old pick up. It words fine and pumps as good as you need. (some folks say its slow). I pulled about 3 quarts in about 10 minutes. I found that acceptable for this little pump and at the cost.I was concerned that the pump needed to be primed but it primed itself. Dont know it is supposed to do that but it did, so that made things easier. The pump is small, plastic but well made. The hoses and hose clamps came with the pump. 4 hoses came with the kit. 2 flexible 3/8"ID hoses and 2 1/8" semi flex hoses. Using the 3/8 hoses on the discharge is find but you need to use the 1/8" semi flex hoses on the suction otherwise the flex hose will collapse and restrict the flow. (Hey, everything has its learning curve)I would recommend this pump kit and will buy it again if I need one later.

Didn’t work out of the box
Bought this to change oil in my boat. It did not work right out of the box. I connected it to battery and flipped the switch.. nothing happened except the wires began getting hot. I took off the front plastic cover and found the pump vane cover that is held on with three screws was over tightened preventing the mechanism from turning. I put a little loctite on the screws and then just “snugged them up” against the o-ring. It works fine now. Easy fix, Hope this helps some one else.

Easy Peasy No mess!
This only took 10 minutes approximately to change the oil on my 2011 250 Yamaha Sho Outboard motor. The only issue I had was 6-8 minutes in, while the pump is running continuously with the oil being cold. The pump would shut off. It was warm to the touch like maybe overheating? Not really sure if thats why it would power off, but then after a minute it would come back on. It did it twice during the process. Also prior to attaching the aligator clips on the battery terminals for power. Very carefully with a blade, spread the wires apart so they can reach the positive and negative post. If not, the wires will pop out of the alligator clips if your force them to reach. Not sure sure how long this pump will last, but it already paid $$$ for it self from me not having to pay get my boat serviced at dealer for $350.
