No this won't power anything. You supply power to the adaptor and the adaptor the powers the device.

Sounds a bit complex to me. The leads are used to hijack the data flow rather than the power. Often the item you use it on requires power so it passes that as well. They are really data extension leads that manufactures of the device have built into the device an expansion port through the data / power usb lead. So if the echo dot isn't designed to expand anything out of the back of the power lead, data wise it's not going to do anything data wise. I thought in anycase the dot was just a power plug like the echo 2. Reckon you just need a 13amp expansion socket and plug your WiFi entender into that. I wouldn't try to mess with reducing the power to devices by sharing power. Normally with these leads you might have to up the power supply after plugging in whatever you are extending data wise. Putting an SSD into one of these or a usb Ethernet hub onto a Firestick or Chromecast requires the power supply load to be increased (e.g.. 2amp rather than 1amp) found that twice.

Bought this for the sole purpose to attach a wired keyboard but dosnt work , tried 3 keyboards and no joy , unless it's not getting enough power as it has my firestick 4k attached, can't worlnout the reason why.
