Excellent product!

Unfortunately this is yet another batch of "remasters" that follows the trend of mastering the music for earbuds and not a proper stereo system. The music is compressed, tinny and shrill. The low end is virtually nonexistent.If you care about the quality of sound in your music and are a fan of Robert Palmer's catalog you would be doing yourself a disservice by getting these 2011 editions. I suggest you hunt down the original Island Records compact discs from the early 90's. They still sound quite good. I know because I went running back to them after hearing these.

Terrible sound quality. I bought several of these Robert Palmer reissues and the sound quality is awful on all of them. Shrill and tinny. No bass. If I hadn't taken them out of the shrink wrap I would be returning all of them.

The cover say, that this is a High Fidelity recording, but it is a very LOW FIDELITY. Very bright and no bass.Waste of money! A really disapointment.

“Pride [Collector's Edition, Limited Edition, Original Recording Remastered, Import] ”を購入。「羅生門」さんのレビューにある通り（と思われる）妙な音。音場が逆相っぽい中抜け。持っている昔のCDと聴き比べてみたところ、L / Rも逆になっているような…。The Silver Gun はイントロのバスドラが歪んでいる。帯には“STRICTLY LIMITED COLLECTOR'S EDITION / HIGH FIDELITY RECORDING / DIGITALLY REMASTERED 96kHz / 24-BIT”と書いてあるが、どういうリマスターだろう。

2011年発売の下記タイトルの輸入盤STRICTLY LIMITED COLLECTORS EDITIONDIGITALLY REMASTERED(96kHz/24BIT)を新品購入した。(アマゾンではCollector's Edition,Limited Edition, Original Recording Remastered, Import, From USと表記されています)　・Double Fun　・Secrets　・Clues　・Some People Can Do What They Like　・Pride全タイトル音の悪さと、左右のバランスの悪さにビックリした。最初は「当方のオーディオのトラブルか?」と思ったが、オーディオのトラブルではなかった。左チャンネルのレベルの方が明らかに大きく曲によっては、突然 左チャンネルのレベルが大きくなる。プレスミス又は制作過程でのミスだろう。アイランド時代のロバート・パーマーの作品は全部大好きで商品到着を楽しみにしていただけに残念だ。旧規格の日本盤CDを探して購入する事をオススめする。

Voilà un artiste avec un immense talent qui est parti trop tôt. Robert Palmer avait une superbe voix, qui lui permettait d'aborder tous les styles, une classe monstre et des musiciens toujours excellents. Il a signé une série de tubes qu'on prend toujours plaisir à réécouter aujourd'hui (Every kinda people, Johnny and Mary, Addicted to love...). Cet album date de 1983 et il est très bon, il a bien été remasterisé et il est réédité sous forme de CD imitation vinyle (avec les sillons apparents!), joli. Palmer comme souvent y mélange les styles: pop synthétique, rythmes caribéens (Pride...). Des titres comme You are in my system sont toujours un bonheur, très efficace et n'ayant pas trop vieilli malgré les synthés bien en avant. Le reprise de Kool & the Gang est excellente (You can have it), il faut dire que Palmer excellait dans cet art délicat des reprises (il a repris Marvin Gaye, entre autres...) et pas mal d'artistes s'y sont plantés. Ca n'est pas son meilleur album (je mettrais Riptide à ce rang) mais il est néanmoins très bon et vaut largement l'écoute. Palmer nous laisse un bel héritage et j'aime toujours autant réécouter régulièrement sa discographie.

Entgegen anderer Meinungen ist das Remaster mehr als gelungen. Wahrscheinlich haben viele Hörer vergessen, wie die Musik in den 80er Jahren abgemischt wurde oder sie haben die 80er gar nicht erlebt. Die Höhen sind nicht zu spitz und die Bässe ausreichend vorhanden. Die Aufmachung (Sleeve/Cover und die CD als echtes schwarzes beidseitiges (!) Vinyl-Replica) ist originalgetreu, genau wieder Sound. Daher volle Punktzahl!

First off I love this record...it's warm, danceable and intelligent. So why a oe star review? The sound on the 'culture factory' re-issue is revolting is why. It is mastered far too loud for a start and you can barely make out RP's voice...or indeed any other instrument...because of the relentless, one tone, thin drum beat. It sounds nothing quite like anything I've heard before...well apart from the other culture factory releases I've foolishly bought. Eeeh, they've managed to ruin three Kim carnes titles, two Wang Chungs and a sizeable chunk of Robert plmer's back catalogue. Not bad or a label that only started its 'masters of rock' series less than a couple of years ago.I am so disappointed by this re issue but don't be put off from getting anothe version of the album. 'want you more' is a magnificent song and the rest aren't far behind.
