Larger in size (approx. 8"w x 6"d) and recommended for Greys, Amazons, Cockatoos, and Mini/Small Macaws. Can also be used for other pets: guinea pigs, ferrets, lizard, etc. The platform or shelf perch, allows birds to comfortably sit and roost properly, by giving the feet the ability to relax. The flat surface also gives an orthopedic quality, having the foot extended and not gripping all the time. The smooth surface (as opposed to concrete and sand paper/rough surfaces) helps prevent pressure sores from developing when only using round perches. Wonderful for handicap birds, young birds and issues with balance. Great for a sleeping perch, place to relax, eat or play. Also a nice addition for perches added to the outside of the cage or cage door for birds with open time. As useful and necessary as the platform perch may be, we couldn't overlook the CUTE factor when creating them, and had to keep in the Parrots Treasure way of design. Many customers love the fact that their birds will chew on their platform (making it their own), a natural behavior in the wild, where they would perch. Enjoyed on many levels, affordable and easily replaced.
