This works well as a soft closer on cupboard doors.When positioning this you need to place it at the correct distance from the hinge based on your cupboard doors. Too far away and the door won’t close as it won’t have the momentum / weight. Too close to the hinge and the door will have too much momentum and it won’t soft close. Start about halfway along the door and see how it goes.

Useless too strong for cupboard door just leaves door open doesn’t move at all

Unless your cupboard doors have incredibly strong hinges or are ridiculously heavy! You might find these a bit strong and all your doors are ajar.

These don't work as the "plunger" mechanism to far to strong and won't allow the door to close at all.

I tried some cheaper alternatives which were little more than a spring in a tube. The Blum Soft Close are more expensive but they work well on our kitchen drawers, especially the heavy cutlery drawer. I drilled a 10mm hole in the base unit to fit as the adapter plate was unnecessary.
