KINGDO Surface Power Supply Adapter 48W 12V 3.6A for Microsoft Surface Pro 2 Surface Pro 1 & Surface RT Tablet with 6Ft Power Cord Including a storage pouch bag

I ordered this Kingdo power supply for my Surface Pro 2 a while back, but I waited seven months to write a review on it. My experience with power supplies is that all of them work when new, but the quality of the circuitry inside them needs to be vigorously tested under extended normal use conditions to ensure their functionality. Sadly, I had purchased plenty of power adapters that failed after just several months of normal use (some days within the expiration of their warranty periods). After seven months of use, my experience with this Kingdo power supply has been very positive. The power output has been consistent. Though I haven't measured the current using an ampmeter, this power supply has no problem charging my Surface Pro 2 even when its CPU is under full load (my SP2 runs calculations almost continuously, and the fan is on most of the time, drawing power constantly from the supply). Other power supplies with questionable output characteristics would have been unable to charge the battery under these high-load conditions, but this Kindgo power supply has been very reliable. Its USB port also charges devices quite a bit quicker than many of my other chargers, indicating that the power output on the USB port is equally decent. Additionally, the adapter itself does not get too hot even under these usage conditions, which is a very good sign of the quality of this power supply. While any product can garner a 4 or 5 average rating, the most accurate assessment comes from whether users would pay to buy the same product again. Power supplies, if they work, are meant to hold up for years, so ironically, high quality power adaptors don't get many return customers. But I can say I like this adapter for my SP2 so much that I have purchased another Kingdo power for my 2017 Surface Pro.

I had bought a cheaper charger off of Amazon a couple of years ago (for my Surface Pro(1))... but the covering over the wired came loose on both ends exposing them....it would also zap sometimes when connecting to the Surface. I just got this one, and it fit nicely. It charged up from zero to full no issues. The connector, wiring and box in the middle, feel of high quality. I did read some negative reviews before buying it, but risked it anyways... so far so good. The travel case and overall packaging was very nice too.

The product stopped working within 3 months of purchase and upon reaching out to the seller for replacement as it was still under warranty, the seller Lap Tech (now probably name changed to Lap Source) did not provide replacement. For three weeks they kept saying that they are going to ship the replacement but did not.

Works perfectly. Quick shipping. I had to replace my adapter because the original one that came with my Surface Pro 2 tablet/laptop had been getting really hot and then started melting/fraying the cord where it is attached to the adapter. (Prior to this, I had noticed that the back of my tablet would get very hot sometimes when charging. The adapter was very hot as well but didn't show any signs of damage.) This one is reinforced at that connection point to the adapter to help stabilize it better. The pouch is a nice addition to help keep the cords protected when not in use. It also comes with a separate plug that can be attached directly to the adapter or you can still use the regular cord to plug in to the wall.

I bought two of these products; one for home and one for work for now several months. Unlike the original surface pro charger, the cords are long enough to be comfortably away from an electrical plug. Also, I find the cords to be robust and will last for a long time, including moderate to heavy use (transporting the supply adapter in a bag pack on a daily basis).
