Says it comes with 2 cartridges - it doesn't! only 1 was included and that was jammed so hard in the barrel of the pen it took some doing to get it out. I have a cross Bailey light fountain pen which I love and which came with 2 cartridges one in the pen and one in the box nothing in the box for this one. Putting aside the cartridge issue it seems like a well balanced pen which when capped is just the right weight for me, the nib seems to be the same as my Bailey light which I do love as it so smooth and easy. Some fountain pen nibs can be a bit scratchy but there doesn't appear to be any of that. I will get a converter as I prefer filling my pens from a bottle of ink rather than using plastic single use plastic cartridges but if it says 2 cartridges included then I expect 2 to be included if it wasn't for this I would prob have given 5 stars

I'm a pen collector. The important thing is whether the pen fits your hand and style, is to thick or too heavy. This is a personal thing. This pen suits me. Another criteria are: does the cap "post" properly on the other end of the pen when writing or does it waggle or fall off? And does the nib provide ink first time without having to dip it to get it started? For the Beverly the answer to both of these is yes. There are expensive pens to which these criteria don't apply and cheap ones to which they do. So it is not a matter of money.

I usually very much like a Cross nib, and I was taken with the look of the Beverly so I bought one (the purple one) and was really happy with the ink flow and the smoothness of writing ... until one day, upon opening the cap, I was left with the body of the pen in my right hand, an the broken plastic inner part of the nib block stuck inside the cap in my left hand. I was very disappointed, especially since I liked that pen. I bought another one .... 18 months on and not after heavy use, the same happened again! I am definitely not impressed. Between that, and the floral collection's designs, which are gorgeous but fade in no time, Cross have disappointed me too often. It is a shame because their nibs are very good.

I bought this to replace a similar design of Cross pen that has ended up scratched badly from daily use and being carted about in my over-stuffed handbag. I like the thicker barrel which is very comfortable in the hand and the pen is also a nice weight. The deep purple with chrome trim looks very stylish.

Originally saw this in WHS and brought the pen for £39.99For a Gift for the wifeDid a check on Amazon at a later date and saw the exact pen at half the price.Placed an order for the pen ,Coloured ink and a cartridge refill .Total price less than the cost of the original brought pen from Smiths.Got my money back from Smiths the following week.The wife loves the pen and violet inks she uses every day to mark her pupils school books.
