This works really well for anybody who wants to pull a small trailer with a car. I got it for use with my Nissan Leaf and Chevy Volt. If I used anything less, the trailer would be riding low on the front (nose diving). I started with a 3" equivalent that I could buy locally but that just wasn't enough. This one is ideal on the Leaf. The Volt sits an inch or so lower so I guess I can get by on that one as well. I also bought one of the Reese Towpower balls with a 3" thread post. I might use that to get a bit more height if need be. Anyway, this hitch/drawbar is great. Very strong and solid. Standard thick glossy finish as well.

I am towing my little 14' bass boat with a Nissan Altama. I have the Nissan frame mounted hitch on, but the ball was only 5 inches above the street. Did not even extend but 2 " out from the bumper. I guess the hitch would have been alright for a very small utility trailer, but even that would be pushing. The Nissan dealer that installed it said it was rater for 2,000 lbs. The Altama it's self is rated for 1500 lb toe weight. My boat is less then a 1,000, I thought I was being smart by going to the Nissan dealer....I thought wrong! Anyway I found the riser/extender here, and by golly it is perfect. Did the Nissan dealer tell me I might need an extender...No. Was he happy to take my $225 for the hitch and $ 150 for the install...Yes Was he smart enough to see the problem and help a customer out...No. This riser/mount took me all of 2 min. to install, hooked up the trailer and went around the block....PERFECT!

As advertised.

Fits perfect on my 2010 Lincoln MKZ. Depth and Rise are bang on for clearance on my car. SOLID BUILT ball mount. This piece of solid steel is not giving way. FYI: You need a 1/2" Receiver Pin, not 5/8"
