No, the toe is gold. There is only a slight seem along the inside by big toe. I wear my shoe's tight and it never bothers me, nor leaves a mark. You will not be disappointed with this brand of socks.

No your order is not correct. You should of received 6 pairs or 12 socks.

Q: Is the material thick amd soft like cotton or does it feel like synthetic?

80% Cotton, 16% Polyester, 3% Nylon, 1% Spandex

Q: What size is XL? 13-15?

I would think so. I ordered the large for my husband and he wears an 11-12 and they fit him perfectly. So I'm going to say xl would be anything above 12. Hope that helps.
