Wooden Dowel Pins, 1/4" x 1"- 100 Pieces, Fluted Wood Made of Beechwood

I recently order 1/4" dowels from 2 other vendors on Amazon. several hundred dowels went into the trash because they were all nonreturnable. Nice looking dowels. However, they were 7/32" in diameter not a full 1/4".I will be ordering from this company going forward. Good solid dependable dowels! And I use a lot of them in my business.

I don't have anywhere else to get these from in my area. So these are what I had to buy to work on the wood projects that I have to get done.

I think they might be metric or ? They work if u use a slightly smaller drill bit. Reason for 4 stars is … this should be in description.

A dowel pin is, above all, a nice convenience. Instead of buying dowel rods, which are less expensive, and then have to cut them down to length, champher their ends and crimp them a little to approximate fluting along the length, a dowel pin will have all of those qualities. These dowel pins fit the bill. I don’t use dowels often—they’ve been replaced by biscuits—but I’ll use them frequently in drawer construction in order to create a quick mechanical and glue joint at the corners of the drawer. The flutes of these dowel pins both allow glue to escape and at the same time creates more glue surface and therefore a tighter bond. The champhered ends of the pins allow some space for extra glue and so will help to avoid hydraulic pressure—which can cause the wood to split—when the pin is tapped home. These dowel pins do what they’re supposed to do and do it well.

These worked great on recent big project that used about 360 of these dowel pins. Fluted barrels to allow some glue and still fit snugly in the hole. Strong enough to be driven in if necessary and resist splitting or mushrooming. A good value and will definitely buy again.

I made a card holder on a lazy susan for playing a game that uses 6 decks of cards. I made 4 holders on the perimeter and one in the center.These dowels worked perfectly. I painted mine to match the lazy susan.

Got these dowel pins to connect the miter corners on my retro window casing to keep the corners lined up nice and tight
