I bought this just for fun random painting, but it turned out to be really good and I have now bought the 56 set, great paint would definitely recommend, especially for beginners.

Well first off, I was pleasantly surprised by getting 10 brushes rather than 5, each was a different size/style(no duplicates). I was super excited it included a fan brush since I've been wanting one, but didn't feel the need to go out and buy a fan brush when I could make due with my current ones. The brushes themselves aren't perfessional grade by any means, but they're good (no hairs falling out, I can get rough when breaking them in) they may need a little trimming here and there but my standards were low for the price and the brushes exceeded it. I feel mixed about the opacity of the paints, some colors (see my test) covered the black (Dr. Ph Martin's black star waterproof matte India ink) while others needed more dabbing- none got a second layer in this test though I feel like waiting the quick dry time and adding a second layer would do the trick. Paints reactivate on the paper like you would expect for gouache, and I like how thick the paint is (feels more like a transparent acrylic and nicer than cheaper feeling brands of paint that tend to feel runny which I dislike).Also was really happy with how matte these are since I got them for surface design purposes. The image of my test swatches had my phone's camera flash at point blank with zero gloss, so I'm really happy with the paint for that reason alone.The container itself suits its purpose, there's the gap at the sides but it does feel air sealed like closing a tupperware container, even without the pallet. I've decided to not store the pallet inside since the paints spot the bottom of it here and there and I've already made a mess of it trying to wipe the paint off the bottom (shown in the picture). I might use it to travel and paint around town, but I wouldn't be comfortable putting it on it's side or upside-down. Feels like a guaranteed mess. Just have to deal with holding it upright at all times. Also without the pallet inside, the lid doesn't get paint on it if held upright.All in all I'm glad to have it, it's a nice way to get into painting quick without pulling out supplies or stressing about a pallet going dry like I do with my oil paints. My biggest stress is pushing myself to getting started, so the smallest barrier to starting is best. Everything's ready to go with this kit, you just need water and paper.

These are exactly as described! Easy to mix, the brush and pallette are both decent quality as well! The paints have stayed wet since I've got them, but from what I've seen it's pretty easy to rehydrate them if necessary!

I can use this sat on my couch, do 20mins on a piece that I'm working on, then put the lid back on. Go back to it a week later, still the same, like I never closed the box. If they get a but stiff, add a lil bit of water and they are ready to go again. 100% would recommend. Especially to those who have low spoon days, but still want to create without being wasteful. :)
