I bought this as I recently got a car on a trade that had a pioneer stereo with bluetooth connectivity. While I was able to connect my phone and play music, when a phone call came in I noticed I had to switch to speaker on my phone as there was no mic anywhere in the car. I ordered this to remedy the situation and plugged into the back of the stereo after I watched a video on how to get it out of the dashboard. Works great and I attached it on top of my steering wheel and the price was great and was a quick connection to set it up. Sound is great and my calls are clear and the person on the phone call can hear me clearly as well.

Direct replacement microphone for the Bluetooth in my ancient Pioneer head unit that lives in the dash. The original lasted me about 17 years and only gave out from being pinched in a few spots, shorting it out. This replacement microphone, while not original equipment, reportedly sounds great on the other end of my calls. The microphone is a bit more bulky than the original, especially with the pop cover installed. I removed the pop cover and routed the cable from the microphone back down to the head unit. I avoided pinch points better this time, but really, if I got 17 or so years out of the original pinched one, I'm not too concerned. The jacketing on this cable is a bit thicker than the original as well. Seems solid so far and the price was right. Plug and play and get on with your day.

I had no problem connecting this to the headunit. I want to believe that the headunit I'm using currently is just not transmitting a clear sound when folks call, so I can't rate this one negative as It's possibly due to another underlying issue.

Sure, it works. Why would you buy a microphone that doesn't work? The thing is, the quality SUCKS. I can't mount it anywhere in my car without the sound being muffled, far away, or just straight up too quiet. Road vibrations and even the air conditioner is enough to ruin the quality. You get what you pay for, and this microphone is garbage.

Restored hands free to an old failed pioneer avic-7200 head unit mic that was damaged while being removed. Plugged in as factory and seems to sound great to people on the other end of my conversations.

It does work that’s why I gave it 3 stars. If the vehicle you install this into is not sound insulated, you can barely hear what someone is saying on the other end. Not very good quality overall.
