Big help with Water Controller Programming
Was trivial to install, but setup took a little bit of work. Had to use Bluetooth for setup, Wifi would not connect to my iPhone. But once I got that, I could go back in the house and configure it. If you really want to save money and not over/under water, you have to have this. Also no need to pay an expensive contractor to set it up, you can easily do it yourself. Very easy way to keep it from watering when it has or is going to rain, without needing a rain sensor. Can compensate for temp/humidity, time of year, etc. So very useful and you can water your lawn on demand from your phone. Big help, big savings.

Connectivity Issues
The initial set-up was a bit complicated. After the set-up, the module worked fine for few weeks, then started getting connectivity issues. Every 8-12 hours, the wifi module loses connection with the wifi and someone needs to go out to the controller to reset it. I bought this wifi module so I dont have to go out to the controller to run my irrigation system. If I have to go out and reset everytime, I would rather do it manually and not waste money on the wifi module.

Works perfect
Our home builder was too cheap to include this with our irrigation system, so here I am. Anyway, it was super easy to set up, and the app is user friendly. The negative reviews of it are perplexing. If you’ve ever set up any smart device, like a fan or lightbulb, it’ll take you 2 minutes to get it going. I will say that I bought the new option and not the "used like new" version. I personally have had bad experiences with used smart devices being linked to an old home and it complicated things. Not sure if that would be the case here or not, but I suspect could be since it is set up by using the serial number on the module itself, and not the wall mounted irrigation system.

Now I can remotely control the sprinklers
I have only had this for almost 1 month. Here is what I found:My X2 is not compatible with bluetooth but they stated that so it was not a problem. I used WIFI interface to initially establish the link. I found it easier to setup an account and the Hunter using my laptop. After it was setup I simply added the app to my phone. The entire setup was downloaded to the app and now I control the Hunter with my phone. Read everything when you go to new pages on the app; I read quickly at first only to have to reread the page to find the error in my way. The WIFI also connects to weather stations to help setup you app. For example, one setting I have is to not water if the wind speed is > 19 MPH (why water the lawn next door).

A pretty tough time with set up, but once done it's been working perfectly
I installed 2 of these for 2 identical Hunter timers on both sides of our house. The first installed, synched and set up fairly easily. It took several tries to get it connected to my wifi but after 3 tries, it finally connected and set up with the Hydrawyse app was easy. The app isn't the most intuitive, but once you understand the terminology (zones vs programs vs schedules), it's very helpful. I love being able to add photos to each zone, as descriptions are sometimes hard to come up with.We don't have rain sensors, but I have it set to monitor and adjust based on local weather forecast. So far, it's been very accurate and has skipped scheduled cycles when it's either rained heavily the day before, is raining now, or is forecast to rain that day. We had very light rain early one morning, and the system still kicked in at 7am b/c no more rain was forecast for the rest of the day.I recently planted some new plants in one of the zones and have been manually starting that zone for extra waterings on top of the scheduled ones. Doing so is so easy using the app.The second module that I attempted to install was a whole different story. It refused to be recognized at all. After spending over an hour trying, I stopped to analyze why this one wasn't working.Looking at both modules, serial number sticker on the first one was on the back of the module and it was printed in dark, crisp, clear lettering. The second module had the serial number printed on a faded sticker that was stuck (but partially lifting at the edges) onto the front of the module. The writing was so faded that it was a bit difficult to read the numbers. Thinking maybe a 1 might be a I or a 6 could be a faded 8, I tried all the different combinations. Still no luck.I finally ended up asking Amazon for an exchange, as I wondered if this had been a return/defective item that I received. That must have been the issue, because when the replacement arrived the sticker was clean and the print was dark and clear. I was able to install/sync it with just 4 connection tries as I did with the first one and it too, has been going strong for over a year now without any issues at allThis has been super helpful for us as we travel a lot. We have great neighbors who would stop by to turn off our sprinklers during a rainy week, then turn them on again when the storm system had passed. No need to ask them to do that anymore.Summary:- it takes several attempts to sync/connect it to wifi, but once connected, it works great and has not dropped connection in over a year now- we've had several power outages since installation, and when power is restored, the system restores itself without issue- adjusting, editing or manually starting/stopping operation is simple

Must have for controlling your Hunter X2 irrigation controller remotely
Plugged in and in no time, I was able to control my Hunter X2 irrigation system via the Hydrawise app. I'm not a technology wiz but this was easy after some trial and error (my doing). Note: I had more issues trying to figure out the Hunter controller programs prior to installing the wireless module. It's much easier with the plug in module and the app! Well worth the cost in my opinion.

Confirmed twice: this is a piece of junk
What a great idea! Connect to your sprinkler system no matter where you are in the world! Ooooh, but look at all the 1-star reviews...an unusually large percentage. But I'm sure those people don't know what they're doing, so I'll order one.Apologies to all of you 1-star reviewers who gave up. I'm a techie geek, and after 2 straight hours trying ALL THREE methods (multiple times each) to get it to connect, I never got past the endless circle of "Connecting to Hydrawise".BUT WAIT! Maybe it's a defective unit (I really wanted this thing to work), so I ordered a replacement, rather than return it outright. So, I did. And the second unit behaved exactly like the first one: epic fail. At this point, I'm done with this junk. I have a household full of IoT stuff, all functioning flawlessly, 2.4GHz and 5GHz. And yes, this device clearly specifies 2.4GHz, so that's all I tried. This time, I'm returning for a refund: it's a fool me once; fool me twice kind of thing.
