Where is the brush made?

The Calcutta and Tibet brushes are both made in the Black Forest of Germany, in a family shop that has been dedicated to crafting premium brushes for for over 150 years. We then engrave and package the brush at our facility in Idaho, USA.

What if my hair is thick? Can I still use this brush?

If your hair is thick and you still prefer to use one of these brushes, we recommend the Calcutta bristles, and brushing your hair in sections. We also offer the Calcutta MAX boar bristle brush that is made for thick hair. Please see the chart below.

Can I use this brush on wet hair?

Wet hair is fragile, and the boar bristles naturally grip hair to distribute the oils. It is best to use this brush on dry hair. For brushing wet hair, we recommend our Wood Bristle hair brush. Please see chart on this page for more info.

Can I use this brush in the shower?

Because the brush is wooden, it is best not to use in the shower. Extended exposure to water may damage to the wood.

Are there any synthetic bristles in this brush?

No. The bristles in the 100% pure boar bristle brushes include only wild boar bristles. There are no nylon or any kind of synthetic bristles included.
