I keep coming back to it. Totally worth the money.
This series is excellent. I've owned it for something like 5 years, and am finally writing a review. Here are the pros and cons from my perspective:Pros:**The trainer, Jody Hendrix, is excellent and has a great personality. He comes across as genuine, encouraging, and approachable (with the occasional corny joke w/ some self-deprecation). I'm sure some people like to have an overly intense drill-Seargent type of who screams at you, but from my standpoint he was the perfect balance between being a motivator and encourager. My attitude going into each workout is "I'm excited to get through this and to feel good about it".**It is extremely efficient. The workouts are SHORT. Most of these workouts are only about 20 minutes (some maybe 12, just a few upward of 40). For me, this is a HUGE pro because I have a busy job and a family. While short, it is very intense and it works. You don't need to work out for 1-2 hours a day to get in shape (like some other series). This is one of the factors that caused me to purchase it.**I'm on and off with it (starting it for the 3rd time again in about 5 years), but each time I did it from scratch it worked wonders. Physically, the first few times I did it I could already see differences in my body after just a few weeks. So, as someone who's gone through it twice on two separate occasions and starting the third...yes, it absolutely does work. The cons (as some may perceive):**It is very intense. I think this is a pro, but it can be a con to some people who dive into it for the first time. The very first workout, minute by minute, will leave a lot of people thinking "there is no way" (it amounts to doing 100 pullups, 200 pushups, and 300 squats in 20 minutes; most people simply cannot come close to actually pulling that off). What newbies need to understand (and Jody does well to articulate) is that scaling is totally fine. For instance, fewer pullups (or band pulldown), pushups on knees, reducing reps, taking a minute off.**Production value is "ok". I couldn't care less about this, but some people might.

Just what you are looking for
Im aprox 17 stone, 5"10 and mid 30s. im a size 38 in jeans and whilst ive trained with weights for years off and on i just cant seem to motivate myself to go running or even do the 30 mins cardio on a rowing machine or crosstrainer etc, just very boring and then id have to do weights ontop of all that as well to help get a full body workout feeling. At most ive done it for a week and then given up, i get good slim results after a bout of food poisoning and thats about it!Daily routine is up at 7, school run with the kids, work, kids, by about 8pm mon-sat. i dont have the motivation to do a huge workout and so i got into this chunky bermuda triangle that i cant seem to get out of.Just want to fit into my old clothes better and generally not damage the foundations of my house when i run up the stairs, when I walk into the room the chairs cry.I know that exercising in the long run will make me feel better mentally and physically, but probably the reason why you are turning to an exercise dvd set is for a similar reason to me and so I am going to give my view on it so you can either get hyped to purchase, or decide that this is not for you.I borrowed the insanity workout and whilst that is good i found it a bit boring like going on treadmill and crosstrainer and rowing machine all in one go, lots of jogging and lunging etc, planks, stretching and jumping etc. This is great for some, but as a bloke who gets out of breath trying to find his keys in the morning I found it really intense.Because of how intense it starts out it put me off wanting to do it again the next day and i'd just go back to weights again. The instructor also is too energetic for 6am and 8pm. But on a more serious note, the workouts with insanity (am using insanity as an example here as this is a more well known comparison) are more for people who enjoy exercise and like a sort of high energy gym class workout. I don't like running or that feeling of exercising so hard I want to actually be sick, some like insanity and when i am fitter I probably would like to give it a go but it's just not for me. Was that the only real option out there to get results though? I had a look on amazon and came across this dvd set.Weights give you this PUMP feeling and working with resistance can get faster and more impressive results, ive known this for years but again its just motivation that is my problem and sticking with it.When you notice the benefits sooner your eating habits and even your determination to do these workouts get better and go hand in hand.Think of your result as one peddle and your workout as the other pedal, once you workout your results will follow and because of these results then the next workout will follow and so on.So it makes sense to me to train with resistance, because I want to see and feel results sooner so i can then be motivated to do another workout.Ive done weeks of going jogging etc to see little results, yeah the jeans fit better but my nipples still pointed to the ground.I've even worked through vicky pattersons dvd and about a month of that helped me realise that 10 min workouts each day were a good test of fitness and stamina, they werent giving me results that suited my body type and personality.I did a month of this and people said "oh you look well", which is basically saying you are looking plumper than usual. This dvd set cost me £19.99 and I got it about a year ago! I got it thinking it was on sale but it's always this price! So if you see it less than £19.99 go for it but £19.99 is a real bargain.Inside you get a nutrition booklet that I have yet to do shopping for (I am on week 2 of this workout so far) I am eating generally well some days but then the others i get an odd eating binge, sunday roast, but gradually I am finding that I don't want to have mcdonalds etc, because I got a workout to do and just feeling bloated and farty during a workout is no fun. When you drink water through the workout also you end up feeling full anyway so it helps you make better diet choices without following the nutrition guide, but if its proper fat shredding you are looking for - follow the nutrition guide seriously. If you are finding it hard to not eat foods your own way for your own comfort (like me) try at least to make better choices such as eating better in the morning and eating less at night, no sugary drinks at all. You will see nice results with just slightly improving your diet. And thats the good thing is that you can do this workout without the nutrition guide, and then perhaps in another 90 days follow the guide to a T when you feel more beast like. There is a poster with a grid of your workout dvds that you need to be doing on that day and a training guide which is a good read but really you just need to be banging those workouts out each day. Even arnold schwarzenegger will tell you 20 mins of exercise each day will help you stay fitter and healthier. If you live a sedentary life like me (driving to work, work isn't very physical, munching on food thats supposed to be for the kids and then once you sit on the couch you do not move from that couch, you fall asleep on the couch then when you get to bed you are wide awake! then tired in the morning, skip breakfast etc...) you will hit a wall in the first DVD and you will be absolutely done for.Once you realise how weak you actually are the next day you will just want to eat and not do very much, so make sure you eat plenty of protein rich and lean proteins (not beefburgers!!) go for tuna, chicken stuff like that. Cheese is protein, but more fat than protein. The aim is to eat to recover and give you fuel to do the workout then lined up for the next day. What you need is a small set of dumbells (5kg, 10kg, 15kg if you are strong but seriously 5kg will be FINE for the first month!!) you don't NEED these but they really help you push yourself and you WILL see better and FEEL better results. Just follow exactly what they say on the DVD!!a pullup bar for the doorframe is good, Im lucky I have a home gym with crossover. I tried pullups but am just too heavy to do more than 2 sets. After 2 sets I just look like that shark in jaws that they hung up on display, just lifeless and hanging there...As an alternative, look for dumbbell workouts that work the same muscles as pullups just google "can you do a pullup with dumbbels"This will let you do the range of exercises with just dumbbells and if you are looking to get in shape you should really invest in a set anyway. The less hassle you have setting up equipment and stuff like that the more you will want to do these workouts so don't be put off from having to use weights.OF COURSE you can do these without weights!! But I don't recommend it, resistance = results ok?Muscle burns the fat around them, you aren't going to get huge and olympic doing weights like this, weights can often put people off but by working out with weights you engage your muscle more efficiently, thus burning off fat more efficiently and you require LESS TIME TO WORKOUT with resistance so it makes sense completely. There are moments in the dvds that I don't use weights at all, im absolutely knackered and barely managing my own body weight but the weights get you there in the end even if you do the weight for the first set.Ok lets get on to the first DVD (i'll only do a summary of the first two dvds for you, ive blabbed on enough already!)The first dvd is called minute by minute, its the first AND last dvd you do for this 90 day plan.at first Minute by Minute sounds easy! and like its the first dvd, of course it's going to be easy going minute by minute.Minute by Minute however is minute by minute of muscle trembling terror, the first DVD is extremely difficult for a beginner but I wasn't so out of breath that I wanted to be sick, i had a good sweat on but I was struggling with doing these squats with just my own body weight by the end and my pressups I was doing them on my knees. You do pullups, pressups, squats. for like 25 mins straight with only a little rest in between.I couldn't walk much the next day, but I hadn't trained for about 6 months so this was a real eye opener. The instructor Jody has two others with him and they train alongside him but at different levels so you can see them workout and also struggle so it feels non-threatening and also one works with weight, another works without so you can watch whomever is on your level.Jody is really welcoming in each DVD and gets right to the point and gets you to feel really motivated without using silly catchphrases or talking too much. It's just the right amount of motivation you need. I feel the artwork on the dvd set doesn't represent what is on the dvd, the dvd isn't all black and white posing etc, its like workout out in a gym.the dvd has options like seperate audio options to mix up repeat viewings. The second dvd then is the chest one and its literally pressups, wide pressups, close pressups, flyes, and those pressups where you turn sideways and reach your arm to the ceiling.this is why I mentioned get dumbells, i even got just dumbbell hand grips (just to get a deeper pressup) and i use these instead of dumbell for the one where you raise your arm sideways just to get through it. You can do these workouts without weights and stretch instead but you won't feel the burn benefits and muscle pump that you need to really engage them to start that whole chemical process that goes on where your muscles etc start burning fat and needing protein to repair (which gives you that awesome body shape you are looking for). You are looking to look better, not just looks like a vacuum packed version of yourself after all.My chest ached a lot but I have better chest recovery than leg recovery, but the way these dvds play out and how motivating Jody Hendrix is you really feel like you are part of a team working through the workout. If you are really weak and looking for a beginner workout, don't bother with other dvds, seriously get this. It's just what you need to get you out of that chunky bermuda triangle, just follow what Jody recommends even if you are struggling they guide you through it all and you can go at your own pace but BECAUSE of the resistance involved there is such a high bar to achieve you will be amazed at the results. After about 2 weeks you will feel tighter, stronger, its in the 3 months later (90 days) that you will see those dramatic results providing you eat for fuel and not for comfort. Expect about 6 months dramatic results with a diet that is relaxed. but each week so far just the feeling of muscles repairing and feeling tighter and im more aware they are there just gives you this incentive to keep powering on.It is a superb dvd set and a workout routine that makes sense, no gimmicks or catchphrases etc, just working out with added resistance WILL make you have better results. My only bad comment on is is the way the dvds are stored in a card wallet, they tend to ware more by taking them in and out of the card wallet than if it was made from a soft material. If you are female (or male and have not used weights before) you will find this tough with weights but the range of motion and exercises are not just for men, ladies workouts tend to work more on legs and stretching since ladies like to feel confident more in these areas, male workouts tend to be more about upper body as they like to show off those areas so ladies will feel the added bonus of getting rid of "bingo wing" fat faster and having a more varied workout other than in other traditional workout dvds that will push them out of their comfort zones but in a good way just like I am.Highly recommended

sehr gut

Go for it !
I am on day 3 of the Ript90 calendar. I just finished the 3rd dvd titled "Metabolic Mania" today and it is pretty tough. When I was on day 1 I kind of thought it might be too easy of a workout because of the few bad reviews on it but that changed quickly after the warm up, they must have been some muscle men junkies. Also I was a customer who did not read that it REQUIRES SOME EQUIPMENT until after I bought it [pull up bar, resistance band, and weights] so my routine for the pull up bar exercises I do some ab workouts in the meantime, the resistance band that I don't have, so far they have modifications you can do without the resistance band and, I only have 1 twenty pound weight so the workouts requiring 2 weights I just modify to my own. If you don't have any weights you could use something at home like a plate or a purse filled with some weighted items (my opinion so be safe). I have been losing weight and trying to lose weight a long time going to the gym, doing all types of diets, that I give up on. What I learned that really works is looking at junk food and unhealthy food in a totally different way, I haven't heard this tip yet but I look at them as drugs, they give you temporary happiness then they make you feel horrible about yourself afterwards, and I don't want to be a "drug" addict addicted to a temporary mental "happiness" knowing the facts about the harm it does; diseases, mental health issues, long term unhappiness, shorter life spans, so if I do have a little sweet's it is very small and has to be enjoyable, I've gotten to a point where eating a whole tub of ice cream is not enjoyable, or eating 3 snickers and sonic blizzards, or a whole thing of domino's cheesy bread with the garlic sauce and some pizza (I'm not going to lie cheesy bread w. garlic sauce sounds so delicious right now, but wait), it's not enjoyable at all because I imagine what it is doing to my body if I do eat these things it is very small I eat little by little until I'm satisfied (I'm secretly craving this but I think I will reward myself once I get to a short term goal), when I eat healthy food I'm thinking I am closer to my goal, I am going up the steps of happiness and health instead of down the steps. I am a 21 year old female who is 5'10 my highest weight was 245 lbs and my weight starting this program is 175 lbs this is a 70 lb weight loss over the years of my metabolism kicking in from age, and on and off of eating clean and working out over 6 years. I am more dedicated now, I quit smoking and am trying to get to 140 lbs or somewhere I am personally comfortable at. I like home workouts because it really pushes you, home workouts are kind of like having your own personal trainer. This workout is affordable and you get more than what you spend if you complete it, NO DOUBT that if you complete this program while eating clean, you will be in much better shape. I'm planning on going all the way through with this program then eventually buying the insanity workout. Like other reviews have said Jody Hendrix is not intimidating or annoying I find myself not saying "can you please shut up" while working out to this dvd so that's great lol
