I use the book for practice. I wish that it was spiral bound so that it could lie flat.

I wish they had another name for this book. I LOVE the key of C for my students. It's a great way to get them to play consistently when they are first learning. Even later, when they nees something familiar when playing with other instruments . There is nothing wrong with the key of C. It's not any less important than the other keys. Change the name and I think you would have better distribution. Nothing FAKE about these arrangements or key. Love it!

I play a tenor sax for my own enjoyment and have throughly enjoyed playing the hymns in this book. I like that the hymns are arranged so the score is all on one page. It makes it easy for sax players not to have to turn the page. I cut the spline off on my table saw and the put the pages in a ring binder. It worked great. Because all the songs are in the key of C some notes on a very few songs are out of the range of the tenor sax. I understood that when I purchased it and just play those an octave higher. Very few songs fall into that category. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase.

I love this book because even though I don't know every chord by sight yet, nor can I read sheet music proficiently anymore, I can still pick up most of the songs in this book along with the basic melody line within 1-3 practices. If you've played around with chords and sheet music but are not necessarily skilled yet at either, this is a great mediator. The chords are noted along with the basic melody line for the treble hand, so you are free to experiment with your bass hand. I do find myself wishing that EVERYTHING wasn't in C. I know that's easier to play, but I don't mind some of the other keys and get bored when I play in the same key for too long. Nonetheless, for me, this book still presents a few challenges and keeps me busy. I bought the Christmas book too after this one!

Easy to use and learn from. Has a page in the back with your chord hart. Everything is written in the key of C.

This is just the book I was looking for. I learned so many songs I didn't know just by playing. Chords with left hand and notes with right. I put the Organ setting on my keyboard and it sounds awesome. Some I have played on my ukulele and it sounds fantastic. I have also played many on my Piano settings. If you miss or never heard some of the old hymns here is your chance to play and enjoy them. Absolutely no regrets on this purchase!
