My cat takes medication for asthma and megacolon every day. It was torture to try and force the pill into his mouth, then clamp his jaw shut and tilt his head back to try and make him swallow. He'd almost always find a way to hide it near his teeth til I walked away and then spit it out. I'd seen these in the pet store, but never tried them..finally I decided to buy a package. First, this flavor, tuna and cheese, is not available in any of the stores near me. So I'm really glad Amazon has it. Now, on to the flavor.. Oh my God. My cat LOVES THIS. I can't believe how easy giving him his pills is now! He's so eager for the pill pocket, he never notices the pill in it! They must taste really good, because my other cat, who does not take any medication, always goes crazy growling and snuffling, trying to take these away from her brother! We have to give her a few just to keep her away from his pill-containing ones! Seriously, they are obsessed with these things. As soon as they even hear the drawer open where they're kept, they come running, even if they're in another room. I am soooooo grateful to whomever thought up this concept/product. It makes taking care of my cat a billion times easier. And makes him very happy. They're a bit pricey. Obviously, they're going to cost more than regular treats.. But they're almost twice the price of a bag of treats the same size. That's the only downside. They are the same texture as a new type of chewy treat that Temptations brand has just released, so I know it can't be that the ingredients are super expensive to obtain..maybe the process of creating holes in them is very costly for the company.. Though the intricate ridges and designs I've seen on dog treats at a lower price make me doubt that. Anyway, so they're not cheap. But they are such a huge, huge help if you have a cat who needs to take pills. I'll never go back to the old way.

As mentioned above it makes medicine time enjoyable for me and Leah (9yF on methimazole and fluoxetine). It's a treat for her and she gladly eats it up. The pill pockets are super soft and malleable, so I use the smallest amount necessary to cover her pills- one pill pocket covers 3-4 pills. A whole pill pocket would be too big, so if you have to give your cat large pills I suggest splitting them smaller so their are multiple "treats". We tried a different brand for a while, but she stopped taking them and we are back to the Greenies. I have two other cats that aren't on medicine daily and they aren't too interested in the pill pockets but usually don't care for the fish flavors. Leah loves the tuna and cheese. I wish there was a sampler pack with all the different flavors to try.Otherwise, thank you Greenies for making these!

These do work, and they have a great scent and flavor because as soon as I pull them out my cat is all over me. However, they aren't big enough to fit larger allergy pills meaning if the cat doesn't swallow it whole (choking hazard anyways?) then they will taste the pill and spit the whole thing up.45 also isn't much, if your cat takes 1 - 3 pills 2x/day, these will only last for a few weeks at best which is not long or very cost effective.
