Just plain works as intended.
I have passive PA speakers that have speakon inputs. I have tons of mic/line cables that are terminated with XLR connectors. I know this are thin cables, but for speech, these work fine. I attach these and they are long enough to reach the floor and then the XLR cables plug right in. Anyone who tells you these damage speakers is not terrible honest. I have even played music rather loudly fed from a 600 watt Crown amp. These adapters worked fine.

They are made with a lighter cord than I like for a 50’ cord but they work and do the job.
