However, keep in mind that it is raw clay that is not being fired or changed in any way but other than letting the water evaporate out of it. It will not last forever, but it could last anywhere from a few weeks to several years. If you want something permanent, consider a ceramic clay that is fired in a kiln. **Q: Does the clay actually dry hard? As in solid and rock steady, or softer and crumbly.** A: Hard. Not hard as a rock; certainly breakable but not soft and not crumbly. Good for plaque, tile, figurines, beads etc **Q: Will the clay dissolve in water after hardening?** A: Yes it does, but I have used a water safe glaze on it after painting and had no issues. I made a sponge bowl for my clay work just to see if it would work and so far after 6 months of use the water has not damaged the sculpture.
