Ducks be gone
This year I have caught ducks in my pool numerous times. Not sure what the attraction is given there is a nearby park with a lagoon. These things seem to be just scary enough to encourage them to go someplace else. Not sure how long they will last but so far so good.

Bird repellent? No; Cinco de Mayo decoration? Yes!
This review is based on 3 months of use in the direct flight path of Crows, Finches, Finches, Robbins, Sparrows, Starlings, and Woodpeckers. These balloons DID NOT work.Your birds will land on, poop, fly over, and land under these repellents. The birds are still landing in the area under them and landing on the string above them.We still have a constant line of bird poop on the ground directly in the area of the balloon.Local airport told me they tried these Scary Eye balloons and they did not prevent birds from "visiting" the air strip and being killed by aircrafts. The balloons were covered in white powder that gets on everything it touches.Instructions are not very detailed and does not include how to hang the scary ribbons that are included. The instructions also do not say if you are to remove the center of the reflective stickers or just place the entire shiny circle on the balloon. The instructions also include a message from the "Family Company" which makes you feel guilty for wanting to get a refund and taking money from the "Family Company's" mouth for their non-working product. They get 1-star because they looked festive for the Cinco de Mayo holiday and because they are pretty heavy duty.I'm still thinking about trying to get a refund for the wasted $16 and may still pursue it.I will update my review if De-Bird tries to make things right.Don't waste your time or money on this bird repellent balloon.

My "test" proved that they work.
I have a story to tell. I had some pesky barn swallows that refused to leave my big shed. Compressed air, broom handles, throwing soft things at them, nothing worked. I climbed up on a ladder to get at them. They just would not fly back out through the big overhead door opening. Until. I hung up one of these yellow balloons. They were GONE before I got off the ladder. I didn't even see them leave. I think I fussed with them for half an hour before that. These balloons work! No more nests in our pool shelter either. I bought more for our front porch nesting battles. I don't know if they work 100%. But I will take the 90 or 80% efficy. 4 instead of 5 stars because the attach points won't hold up to high winds. (I suppose I can try to reinforce them with gorilla tape.)

Inside barn, so can't be sure if they work yet
I ordered this along with the holographic tape to stop birds nesting in my barn, and roosting on my pergola above the deck. Over the past 10 years or so, Starlings have become so numerous around my acreage, that they are driving away the other birds, get inside my pole barn and crap on EVERYTHING, and trying to peck their way into my chimney. And there's no water supply near the barn, so I can't even use my pressure washer out there to clean it up. I have to stop them.My circumstances are vastly different from most. I don't live in a subdivision with houses close together and trees and fences everywhere. I'm literally in the middle of farmland, on a hill, no trees or structures to slow down the wind. You don't know what wind is until you're in my shoes, or live in hurricane country. 40 to 50 mph wind speeds are common here, and during storms they reach 65 to 70 mph. Everything has to be bolted down. So putting all kinds of gadgets outside isn't an option, when the wind can pick up a 300 lb trampoline, and rip off a metal pergola that was lag bolted to the deck, and hurl them 100 feet. I try to explain my wind issues to people and they just don't understand. I can't use the same things as everyone else. Then there's all the farming activity, producing huge dust storms every spring and fall, which leaves a layer of dirt on everything. So I've been researching all the deterrents on here, and trying to find something that might work in my situation. I passed on all of the gels, because the airborne dirt will stick to them and turn them to muddy tar, ruining any effects they have. I decided to try the holographic tape, along with these eyeballs. The eyeballs, which are the equivalent of a beach ball, would not survive outside in the wind. I chose them to hang inside the barn, in front of the windows that they nest above. I plan to hang the tape around the inside and outside of the barn. Worst that can happen is the tape gets ripped off and blown away. I need assistance with that since the barn is so tall, so for now I just have one eyeball inside the barn and I'm going to add 2 more. While waiting for my son to come help with the 20 ft ladder around the barn, I decided to try something else I found at the dollar store. It's this mylar "fringe door curtain" decoration, like the one in the picture, except that one is like the holographic tape, and the one from the dollar store is just plain silver. It was only a few bucks, and I thought I would just give the whole reflective idea a try with it while waiting for these eyeballs and the tape to arrive. So I grabbed 3 little Command hook double sided tapes, stuck them to the top of the door frame on the stationary side of my patio door, and stuck the curtain to them. They hold great and will be easy to remove. So it hangs down and billows in the breeze. It gets a big tangled, but a minute or so of running my fingers down through it like a comb, untangles it.The starlings used to come roost on the pergola over the deck about a half dozen times a day. Once I hung that curtain, they stopped coming that very day. The next morning one was back on the chimney pecking away on the chimney guard again, as they had been for 2 weeks. I went outside and scared it away, and they haven't been back on the chimney since. In the last 5 days, I saw a half dozen or so out on the barn roof, which is a good 200 ft away. But I haven't seen them up there since. There was one inside the barn at the nest, when I went in to hang the eyeball and it flew out. I haven't had a chance to go back yet to check and add the other two eyeballs. I'm going to get them ready for when my helper comes, and we will decorate that barn like there's a party going on.So for now I can't speak to the effectiveness of these eyeballs, but will try to update this in a few weeks, if I can figure out how to do that. I'm just so amazed by that mylar fringe curtain having chased them off, all except for their nesting spot. I'm going to order that holographic fringe and some pinwheels that are the same sparkly effect. I'm going to attach the pinwheels to the deck railings with some zip ties, maybe put an eyeball in the pool, and string that tape everywhere. It may look crazy here when I'm done, but nobody can see my house and barn where it sits anyway.

NOT REFLECTIVE ADHESIVE DOTS
The material is like a beach ball, so its fairly heavy grade of plastice. The circles they sent are just a mirror vinyl definetly not reflective. I have a sign shop and do know the difference in these materials so its false advertising on this part. Unfortunately, i bought them to keep the ducks away from my pool. They dont work for this. So now i just have more junk. to the trash
