Have been using this pump in reef tank for about three years now and it has been proven to be very reliable, especially for the price point. The controller for the pump was essential as the it is very powerful and I only over need to use the second lowest setting even when added two additional manifolds. I would recommend giving this pump a try, didn't notice any noise from pump over other aquarium equipment.

Awesome, works perfectly so far

There are many positive reviews from others, perhaps I got a bad unit.The seals between the hose fittings and the pump inlet/outlets just seem terribly designed, both from the perspective of the actual O-Rings and the sealing surfaces of the pump and fittings. There is barely any material on the inlet side for the O-ring to seal against. I found that consistently when tightening down the nut on the inlet fitting, it would basically squeeze the O-ring out of place rendering it completely useless. The outlet O-ring performed better but was still not ideal.After I was finally able to get the inlet to stop leaking with a lot of time, and silicone RTV, the main pump body seal was leaking!Taking apart the pump body I found that the O-ring for that seal seamed damaged and the sealing surface was scratched up as if the technician who built the pump was using a flathead screw driver to install the O-ring and gauged the sealing surfaces.I tried my best to seal the pump body and used more silicone. Eventually it seamed sealed enough but now the issue is the pump was sucking AIR while running now and was extremely loud because of all the bubbles it was pushing through the housing.

It arrived super-fast! All major parts there! (missing rubber footie - if I didn't knock it off)I bucket-tested the pump and it is powerful.The wave mode is cool and I cannot wait to try it out in a tank.It looks like the impeller can be removed and replaced with a different one but I think an axle/hub puller is needed.Update: Still going strong. Been wet since mid-December. Hasn't missed a beat.Update from 2021: Still not a hiccup! going strong. I am trying to upgrade but missed prime deals! :(

Bought this as spare to replace my Waveline DC6000 pump which is still working well since Feb 2014!! This pump is as same the DC waveline which is the reason I'd have faith in it. I doubt you can still find a Waveline DC pump anywhere now..This is a replacement pump from Amazon though.. the 1st delivered one couldnt pump to it max.. so please test your pump upon arrival.

This thing could pump the Hoover dam, I have a 75 gallon tank with a sump and I would need 5 overflows to keep up. Would recommend getting a check valve.

First time using this pump. Have no complaints as of now
