Challenging but fun!
I’ve been studying mariachi music for 18 years and i love this book! If you are an intermediate to and advanced violin player this is a great book to study the traditional folk music of mexico. This book not only exemplifies the different styles but provides improvisation studies that can enhance your style! The cd is of great quality as well! Thank you to the authors who contributed to these great works.

Description for Mexican Folk Fiddle Tunes - 42 Traditional Pieces
Since the description in this listing is for a different book, I thought I'd paste the description from elsewhere here in the reviews:Mexican Fiddle Tunes contains 42 original melodies, divided in 'Son huasteco' and 'Son calentano'. All pieces are written for solo violin, including chord symbols. The experienced editors provide background information, instructions for ornamentation and improvisation as well as translations of all Spanish texts. The volume also contains an mp3-CD with recordings of all tunes. Grade 3 and higher (intermediate to difficult).I gave it 4 stars because I had to choose a rating, and that was the average that was already up. At grade 3, it is too difficult for my son (the violinist) but I will keep it in mind for the future!
