Hammond 44 Acoustic-Electric Melodion

I use this melodica for my rock band and find that it cuts through fine. I mainly play melodies (fills and solos) on it, but it also works nicely for chords. The microphone seems of high quality and I have not experienced any feedback. This melodion has a warm sound and is much easier to play for me than a harmonica or an accordion. Usually someone in the audience will ask me questions about the instrument, so it can add some variety to your typical rock band.

This is a nice instrument. The sound is clear and rich. I love the extra keys. I have not yet had a chance to hook it up to an amp. The key noise is much better than others I have tried. As opposed to others it has much more of the look, feel, and sound of a real musical instrument, rather than a toy. My only niggle to date is that there is a metal strip next to the keyboard, attached at the top and the bottom, that is not perfectly flush against the body of the instrument at the center. When I accidentally slid my finger across it, I got a "paper cut". For an instrument at this price range that really should not happen. Nevertheless, I would recommend it.

there ought be a law. This instrument is like a toy. They should be ashamed to charge $500 for this !!!!

This is the 3rd Melodion/Melodica that we have purchased and is by far the best. The other two were smaller and I would venture to say they were "toys" compared to this instrument. Larger keys, a nice finish and yes you can plug it into your amp and play it that way as well! My son loves this instrument and has been using his effects pedals to make it even more awesome. I know it is more money than the others, but it is worth it!

This is a great instrument, but it is too much money. Too much.

This is an amazing melodian. I absolutely love it. If you are on the market for a professional concert grade melodian, this is it. Intonation is great. Easy to play, nice variety of mouth pieces, keys feel great under the fingers. I love it

I bought one from hammond, was out of tune in a month, Im talking up to 24 cents sharp! I sent it back and when they sent it back to me it was even worse......its unusable and now there not returning my calls, crap instrument, crap customer service!!

I have several melodicas--Hohner Performer37, Yamaha 37d pianica, and a Mylodica. I also tried, and returned, a Suzuki Pro37V2. The Hammond 44 Acoustic-electric Melodion is my favorite for sound, response and tuning. If I had bought this first, I might not have bought any others.
