Q: Can you connect external monitors to the usb-c ports?

No, the VT200 will only allow for connects to be made to the DisplayPort, HDMI, or VGA outputs. If you have additional questions or concerns please contact us at Support@VisionTek.com or by phone at (866)883-5411.

Q: How much power is provided out the usbc data port?

There are three USB-C ports on this unit. ! connects to the system, 1 is for data only, and the remaining one allows for a USB-C power supply to be connected. The USB-C power supply will allow the dock to passthrough power to the laptop, though the power supply is not required for functionality. Q: Can i replace the usb type c cable that connects the hub to the laptop with a longer usb c cable? tried with samsung usb c to usb c, does not work.

You can replace the cable but be aware that not all USB-C cables will support the data/power requirements for this dock to function. If you need a longer cable, we suggest purchasing the VisionTek USB-C to C cable (Part Number 901269). Q: will this work with regular usb c, or does it require thunderbolt?

This will work with a regular USB-C port on a laptop. If you would like to use the power pass through feature, be sure that the laptop supports power delivery over USB-C.
