Cheap and effective. Perfect for my dishwasher.
First these companies wanted us to switch to gel and now they want us to switch to using packs.I've tried all of these options with multiple dishwashers and in my experience the powder always wins. It does a much better job of cleaning. You can use more or less. The large amount of sodium carbonate or washing soda in this powder ensures that all the grease and oil from your cooking gets removed from the dishwasher. It does not build up on the walls or the filters. You can use all the enzymes you want, but nothing beats washing soda with hot water.I'm glad that this option is available at Amazon because I don't like going to Walmart.

The best dish detergent that I've used
This is not only the best type of detergent for the dishwasher, but the 75oz at under $7 is the best value of this type. We had spotting issues with pods and often had to run some dishes again to get them clean. After some research I found the 2 main issues with pods. They don't put any detergent into the pre-wash cycle, and put too much detergent into the main load for us. We have 2 stages of whole home water filtration and a softener, so it takes less detergent. We split the same amount of powder detergent for the full fill between the regular load and pre-wash sections and have not had to re-wash any dishes in over a year.It works much better than the pods, and we don't have issues with partially dissolved pods getting stuck, spotting, or dirty dishes after the load. It is marginally more difficult than the pods since you have to pull open the metal pour tab and not over-pour it in to the dispenser of the dishwasher, but still easy enough.I have not used a gel or any other powders, mostly because I can't find other powders at a reasonable cost and I feel the powder is less likely to make the cover of the dispenser stick.

Excellent performance; less waste; strong value
I'm very pleased with the performance of this dishwashing powder. It's more economical than the pods, but cleans just as good (if not better). I like the ability to adjust the amount per load so that I'm not over or under-using detergent. It is only slightly less convenient than using a pod provided that you decant it into a more sturdy container than the box it comes in, and use a scoop. Great value for the price --- five stars.

Works reasonably well for the price. 1* less for adding useless and unnecessary fragrance
I wanted to try something more affordable and simple for dishwashing rather than going to quantum....platinum or some other stratospheric version of dishwashing powder / tablets. So, I gave this a try. This does a reasonable job for the price. After long term use, I have noticed it gets all the dishes clean except that sometimes it will not get the coffee and tea stains. So, it's an annoyance to check and handwash those cups.Other than that, my main complaint is added fragrance. Why we need 'fresh scent' in a dishwasher and 'fragrance' our dishes, I cannot comprehend. I don't understand why a brand will go out of their way to spend a few extra cents and add something completely unnecessary. Or at the least, Cascade should offer a fragrance free version and let people choose. Because of these types of issues, new brands come up on the other end of the spectrum which will be fragrance free and free from many other harmful or unnecessary ingredients but cost a lot more.Cascade- save a few cents on your side and get rid of the fragrance.

A functionally better product than tablets or gels!
For anyone that has a dishwasher that isn't cleaning as well as you'd like try this powder. Tablets are a one size fits all solution, they work adequately for most but optimally for very few. Powder lets you tune the amount of detergent to work for your dishwasher with your water.Powder has 3 main advantages over pods and gels:- Ability to adjust quantity to match your water quality/and soil level.- Ability to add detergent to the pre-wash.- Includes more effective cleaning components that would break down if stored in aqueous solutions (like gels).I've lived at several locations over my adult life and Cascade and Finish (powder now discontinued) Dish Powder has worked better than tablets for me at each location despite vastly different dishwashers and water characteristics. However, hard water locations will see the greatest benefit. Also Pro-tip for hard water scenarios add citric acid with your powder to boost performance and eliminate water marks. While your friends might say tablets are more convenient, nothing is more inconvenient than still dirty dishes so save yourself the hassle.
