Long Lasting Value
I purchased my first pair of Stratton Cedar Shoe Trees over a year ago and waited until I used them thoroughly before I attempted a review. I just purchased my second and third pairs. I can say that the construction of the shoe trees is precise and they fit my size 13's perfectly . They are also sturdily constructed so I know they will last. They also give off a cedar odor which is important for the use I have put them through. I used my first pair for my New Balance sneakers (terrific themselves) and I either treadmill or eplitical daily so the sneakers have a lot of sweat and wear. The shoetrees have kept them odorless and absorb the sweat so the sneakers last longer. I have used the second pair for my second pair of new Balance sneakers and my new Clarks dress shoes are home for the third pair. I note that the shoe trees of some other manufacturers, which also have good products, did not last as long as the daily in and out push of the spring mechanism caused the mechanism to either become loose or break down.I see that the trees are still grown in the USA another reason to purchase. I hope that they are also still manufactured in the USA.All in all a great value purchase.

High quality cedar wood shoe trees
I was adding to my dress shoe collection and needed some additional shoe trees. I decided to take a try with these shoe trees, and they were on sale. These are very similar to what you might get at Allen Edmonds or Nordstrom, with the same quality and attention to detail. I have to say that the packaging was very nice, and the shoe trees were wrapped in a quality paper wrap. The cedar aroma was pretty great too. I would definitely buy these shoe trees again.

Steinway Piano level of quality wood-workmanship!
I haven’t bought shoe trees since my 20s, most from department stores at about $20 a pair… Surprisingly, not much inflation here since!!! Now in my 40s and having gained a little weight increasing shoe size, I was on the market for something new and refreshing to fit in my 11.5 (45uk) shoes. The packaging was top-notch. Every single shoe tree was individually wrapped just like a new pair of shoes. Four pair box came in two layers of carefully wrapped shoe trees. Being that I wear Orthotics, when taking my orthotics out, my large previous shoe trees did not work, so I had to go up to a larger size. These answered my every wish and desire for something to move into this next era in my life with. Though these were really tight in my 11.5 Air Force ones, with the stock insoles out, and my orthotics in or out, it fit great and I’m sure they would fit up to a 13 1/2 shoe without insoles. I am confident these will keep my shoe toes in shape as my smaller large size ones fit up to size 11 we’re just not cutting it anymore. The fresh cedar smell assured me that these are definitely ready to handle my needs to freshen my shoes as well for years to come.

Exactly what I was looking for
These shoe trees have a good shape, are quality built, and are easy to use. I bought a couple of sets for some dress shoes a while back and recently bought another set for some boots. The springs have maintained their tension to achieve a proper fit, and the spring-loaded toe makes it easy to get the shoe trees in and out of the boots.

What a beautiful product and presentation. These actually smell like cedar and are very well made.

Superb quality craftsmanship, but why only in multipacks?
Decided to try these for a new pair of Allen Edmonds shoes instead of the OEM ones I've always preferred since:A.) the quality of the Allen Edmonds shoe trees has plummeted in the years since their 2016 sellout,B.) these are advertised as being 100% US-grown cedar (though, interestingly, they conspicuously go out of their way not to specify where the finished product is actually *manufactured*) vs. the 75% US-grown/all-Wisconsin-made Allen Edmonds,C.) these had great reviews.I agree with the overall assessments that they're extremely well-made, as I noticed no imperfections of any kind in the wood or metal fittings, and I couldn't be happier on that specific count.I initially experienced some difficulty in actually getting them (9-10 / Medium) into my size 9D shoes, but that seems to have just been a result of 1 of the 2 springs needing to be broken in a bit, as this issue resolved itself pretty quickly. I noticed a handful of critical comments to this effect in some reviews, so I'm grateful all it required was repeatedly compressing the spring a few times. Now, that being said: they nonetheless do seem to be *ever so slightly* (like, a centimeter) longer than the AE versions of the same product "at rest," and have visibly longer toes. So this *might* present a problem if you're an "edge case" like an unusual (particularly in the A/B/C less-than-standard widths) or borderline size, or if the shoes themselves run small.I have some reservations about the fact that - as of this writing, 7 December 2023 - they're not sold individually, but rather only in multi-packs of 2, 3, and 4 pairs. (Despite a call-to-action ad graphic in the product description indicating a set of 5, this particular product listing did not contain an option for 5 pairs in the 9-10/M.) As I've been conscientious about ensuring my shoes have shoe trees all along by buying pairs of them individually as-needed, this presents a minor problem if you may only just have 1 new pair of shoes - which seems to me like it would be far more common than buying 2, 3, or 4 at a time. While I can live with the extra pair floating around somewhere in reserve (I have no idea what to do with them other than buying another pair of shoes to justify their existence), I really only needed the 1 pair, and I've never had to replace an existing one due to breakage. I understand price discrimination as an economic principle (it was the focus of my undergraduate economics major), but the *inability* to pay literally *90 cents* more apiece for only the 1 pair I needed is an issue for me. Especially in the recent climate of double digit inflation, it's *absolutely* not worth saving less than 2 bucks - let alone the opportunity cost of still having to pay upfront for the 2nd pair - to have the albatross around my closet of an extraneous pair of shoe trees waiting for a home.

These shoes tree smell really nice, in a strong being in the woods right after a rain kind of way. The cedar smell is strong. Fits well. The package came way faster than I expected! Highly recommend.
