Simplehuman makes excellent products
No more stinky trash or running out to the yard waste can all the time. Superhuman compost caddy makes it easy to do the right thing with kitchen scraps. With its clean design, it looks nice on the kitchen counter. Especially with our stainless-steel appliances. It doesn’t take up too much space on the countertop. No smell at all. In our household of two, we normally empty it about once a week. Sometimes more often. Easy to empty. Easy to replace the compostable bag. We tried another brand of refill compost bags. They didn’t fit as snugly on the canister as the Simplehuman brand bags. I just tie a knot on the corner for a snug fit. If you don’t mind spending a little more, the Simplehuman brand of refill bags is probably going to be a better fit and a tad more convenient.

This bin makes city composting a sweet way of life, not a smelly chore
When kitchen recycling became mandatory in NYC, I thought I would hate it. Too much trouble, and where would I find space in my small city kitchen? But I got this container and now I actually love composting. It sits right on my counter, taking very little space, and I can deposit peels and pits and eggshells and such just inches from my kitchen work area--no more peels landing on the floor by my big garbage can. Trader Joe produce bags fit just fine so I don't even need to buy special bags. Since most of the stuff that gets stinky goes in here, my bigger garbage stays fresh much longer (unless I have plastic with fish or chicken essence on them). The biodegradable bags are delicate and porous, so I deliver them to the building bin in the green insert to safeguard against any splitting or leaking bag disasters. I have noticed that the green inner bin collects clear, odorless liquid that must seep through the biodegradable plastic, so I just rinse it before putting in a new bag. I love the green insert and the fact that the lid stays up when you want it to and down when you want it tightly shut. Also, the compostable bag doesn't show when this bin is assembled (I tried another where it did show and it didn't look nice). So far I haven't noticed any odors, even after days with veggie and animal refuse marinating in there--maybe because the lid limits how much air gets in. Urban composting is really no hassle after all, and actually a plus, thanks to this nicely designed bin.

No smell or gnats
I’m an avid gardener and cook who uses lots of herbs and vegetables. This bucket lasts 2-3 days for 1-2 people. No problem with gnats in the bucket even with several flying around my fruit bowl at present. The bin is easy to remove. It’s the perfect size and shape for my dual chamber compost bin. The whole unit is very easy to clean: hot rinse, spray-down with vinegar water, towel dry. Looks attractive, on the counter. The narrow dimension doesn’t impinge on counter space, even when using my biggest cutting board. This is my second ‘Simple Human’ product. I like it as much as my first purchase, a stainless steel dish draining rack. I bought this bin partly because of my (growing) satisfaction with this brand.

Great Looking and Saves Counter Space
We compost. And I've used a few countertop bins. I like this best. The pros: It attaches to the garbage can, and in my case, I didn't have to buy a new can. It does fine with my stainless steel can that I've had for years. Therefore, it frees up space on the counter. It's easy to wipe out. It keeps smells in the bucket. I have not had a fruit fly problem. The cons: It should be a bit larger; the average compost bag that everyone, everywhere uses is very large within this little unit, and therefore hangs out. So it would be more attractive if it tucked in nicely (no green overhang). In order to have that, I'd have to buy special bags - a con - that are smaller.

Small, tidy, easy
I like the small space it takes on my counter and neat appearance.Others said they could not use their slightly larger compost bags, but they work for me. I pull the excess bag material to the back as I assemble and just a tiny bit pokes out in the middle of the back where no one looks. The inner bucket is easy to carry out to the bin when emptying. It rinses clean and contains odors when closed. For our family we need to empty it twice a week. I would say our kitchen is fairly quiet but not unused.I have not had it long, but it seems more likely to hold up than the all plastic competitors.

Stylish and functional! You won't regret getting this!
As someone who is passionate about reducing waste and living a sustainable lifestyle, I was excited to try out this compost caddy, and I can confidently say that it exceeded my expectations.Firstly, the caddy is incredibly well-designed and functional. The sleek and modern design looks great in any kitchen and the stainless steel material is durable and easy to clean. The caddy also has a removable top and is easy take off if you have it attached to your main bin. I think the best part is that it’s at a good level off the ground (my last compost bin was on the ground and goodness was I tired of bending down to put things in it).Now the bin liners are smaller than usual and the size of the bin itself it small. For me, it wasn’t a big deal as I have a smaller kitchen so it was a feature. The liners it comes with fit perfectly inside and are made of thick material.Overall, I am super happy I made this purchase and highly recommend it.
