Better Than OEM
This filter outperforms the GM filter in every way. It’s better-built and the fact that it’s longer than the OEM filter makes it easier to access when tightening/loosening.

Necessary filter for low viscosity oil.
10 micron filtering is very impressive and necessary. Engine is designed to very close tolerances using low viscosity oil. These close tolerances require a higher performing filter. This filter meets those requirements whereas a standard automotive filter cannot.

Have your oil tested to know how this works for you
Dont guess or take advice from people on the internet because everyone is an expert apparently on oil filters and everything else in the world.. I had my oil tested (see my picture/report) I see people questioning the oil pressure due to low micron filtration size. Two counterpoints to that is the duramax 3.0 has a variable drive oil pump by design to adjust for fuel economy. I saw no dips in MPG or oil pressure. Also this filter does has a bypass valve. If it was clogging due to filtration size and bypassing, you would see that in the oil analysis. It also has a lot more area than the stock ac delco filter. Im using this on my 3.0 that i purchased brand new that im planning on keeping for a long time. I first changed the oil about 1100Miles and and the other at about 6K to help remove the wear/break in particles. I will update if any change but if you're reading this then all is good. The only issue i have is cost . Shop around you can get this for cheaper, I wont say where because im sure amazon will take this review down.

High Quality Filter!
Longer than the OEM filter from GM, so easier to access when making the swap. Very well made and fits great on the 3.0L Duramax.

Seems to be filter my oil. I wish society had a filter this good!
Slighy longer. Looks well made. Didn't take any extra oil over the stock filter, my truck still only took 7 quarts.
