Great Cube For Beginners
I've had this for a few months now and I can solve it in under 25 seconds. Back when I was doing 1 minute solves, it felt really fast and smooth. But I've gotten better and it feels slower now and I have more lockups. It also corner twists easily. In my opinion this is a great cube for beginners, especially if they are looking for a relatively cheap cube, but if you can solve it in under 40 seconds, I would suggest a faster cube.

Perfect for people interested in cubing
Out of the multitudes of cubes I have bought over the years. This is by far the best cube for the dollar. It is incredibly smooth out of the box. It does not require any assembly. The only problem is that once you get fast enough you will start cutting corners. Which this cube can do fairly well. But when you start going at it you will find yourself doing some moves twice because it cannot keep up. But still a very solid 9/10.

Very Nice Speed Cube -- Excellent for Upgrading with Magnets
To clarify what you're getting (the item description is a little confusing). The original Gan 356 R cube is now limited to stock-in-hand. In most cases, if you order a Gan 356 R now, you will likely get a Gan 356 RS, which is this newer, updated design that's similar to the Gan 356 XS flagship cube. For at least a little while longer, if you're interested in the older or newer model, you may want to verify with the seller which one you will actually receive.Gan is one of (if not the) best manufacturer of speed cubes. The Gan 356 RS is the new 2020 version of the Gan 356 R, and both are considered Gan's "budget" (cheapest) cube. Since when is an ~$18 speed cube considered a "budget" offering? Well, considering most Gan speed cubes are > $50 and as high as even $90, $18 does seem rather discount in comparison.Several YouTube reviewers are advertising this cube as a poor man's Gan 356 XS once you add magnets. Unfortunately, I have to disagree -- the RS really isn't really comparable to the XS. They seem to share the same lightweight core and similar frosted textured colored caps, but the rest of it is far more like the original Gan 356 R or maybe the Gan 354 M (minus the magnets). Except for the clear plastic core, the rest is very different between these two cubes. The performance of the Gan 356 RS reflects this as well -- it's very different from the performance of the current Gan flagship of the XS. That being said, like all Gan cubes, the RS is still an excellent performing cube. It's just simply not a flagship and if you buy it, you simply need to realize that you are buying Gan's cheapest cube and therefore shouldn't expect flagship quality/features.After buying the RS, I immediately disassembled it and added magnets (see pics). I did the same to the original R cube as well. Adding magnets greatly improves the stability and performance of these cubes. And although it doesn't convert them into Gan 356 X or XS flagship cubes, it gets pretty close.I gave this cube 4/5 stars because I simply like the original Gan 356 R better than the Gan 356 RS and feel the original version was a significantly better cube. The new RS version is lighter weight and offers a newer tension system, but personally I don't feel either of those are necessarily improvements as much as they're just different. Again, still a great cube. I think if I never owned the original R, I would probably rate the RS a full 5 stars. To qualify this review/opinion, I also own and frequently use the following speed cubes:Gan 356 XS, Gan 356 X, Gan 356 R (magnetized), Gan 354 M, Rubik's/Gan Collaboration Speed Cube (magnetized), Moyu Weilong WR M, Moyu Weilong GTS3 M, Moyu Weilong GTS 2 M, Cubing Classroom MF3RS3 M, Yuxin Little Magic (magnetized), and several more collectible/novelty cubes.

Smooth cube
My son loves this cube- he says it’s very easy to turn and it doesn’t “catch” when trying to turn. It has a soft matte feel which he likes, also. Colors are vibrant and has an overall quality feel to it. Smooth game play and has held up to his frequent tinkering.
