Super easy to use
These come in these little bags very easy to just add water and that’s it. I use them to grow wheatgrass for my pampered cat. Durable easy to use and a good value for your money. Will buy again.

Excellent
I have been using this for years to grow cat grass in and it works very well. Much more compact and less messy than trying to use potting soil and the coconut provides natural nutrients.I have also used for orchids and that works quite well also.

Great deal, you get ALOT of product!
I bought this because it was way cheaper and a better deal than the organic coconut soil I buy for growing cat grass. If you’ve ever grown grass for your cat indoors, you know that it’s a constant process. You grow it, it takes about 3-4 days to grow, it lasts only about a week or two, then it dies, then you have to grow it again. If you are not a cat person, just know, we are not crazy. Indoor cats LOVE nibbling on grass. If you have bought the coconut soil discs that are specifically for cat grass, you know it’s very good, but pricy. These discs are about twice the size of the mini soil discs you get with the other company. In one of my pics you can see the box comparison. I was planning on cutting these soil discs in quarters because they are so much bigger, and just using a little at a time. But they are rock solid and impossible to cut. So I had to just moisten the whole thing at once. They give you 1 plastic bag inside to do this. Super simple. Just add warm water and watch it grow. I was left with WAY too much soil than I needed, so I put the rest in the freezer in the bag and took out more as needed. I put the excess moistened soil in the freezer because otherwise I figured it would grow mold inside the bag. Seemed to work perfectly freezing it and thawing it later.Very good product and very good deal. It does make a mess, but since it’s made from coconut shells and it’s not really dirt, I don’t worry about it getting all over the counter.I would recommend these to everyone. Whether you’re growing cat grass or something else, this is a very good product.

Handy
This is very handy and works great. Some plants need better soil so an additional base might be needed.

Easy to Use, No Mess, Rich Soil.
This is such a simple thing, but I really liked that the product came with a large cellophane bag for mixing. I didn't have to dig out a bucket or use one of my kitchen bowls and when I was done, I shook out the bag and put it back in with the leftover pellets for next time. No mess!I used these to plant an amaryllis bulb, an herb garden, and a window root vegetable garden with 3 little kids and you probably won't believe this, but there was no mess! The kids loved watching the soil expand. Like magic! Also, it happened quickly, unlike some pellets that say to let it sit overnight and it produced a lot of soil for the size of the pellet. It's been a week and all my seeds have sprouted and my bulb looks happy with green shoots emerging from it.I'm no soil aficionado, and am just getting into indoor gardening, but this soil seems to be very rich. I like that there's coconut fiber in it, which I'm told helps with drainage. I still have 4 pellets left, but I'm hoping to expand my gardening efforts next year and I will definitely order more of this then.

Great Product and Easy to Use.
These hard, dry disks of what look like compressed saw dust, fluffs up into a very nice growing medium. Make sure you estimate the amount you need accurately though. 12 quarts is not that much if you are trying to fill a largish pot. I ended up mixing in some 'regular' dirt since I didn't have time to order more. The mix works well though and plants seem to be doing well. One word of advice - the directions kind of imply you should hydrate one disk at a time. I used a plastic container I had handy instead of the provided plastic bag. After doing one to see how it worked, I put the other 5 disks into the tub, dumped in the required water and let it sit for 10 or 15 minutes. Once all the water was absorbed, I just broke up the remaining small clumps with my hands and it was good to go. Couldn't have been easier.

Great for winter windowsill growing
I use these primarily for growing micro greens in the winter, or growing cold weather root vegetables indoors in the summer. I like not having to deal with fungus gnats, and the disks are way more convenient to store than a bag of soil. One disk perfectly fits an empty pho takeout container when hydrated.

Attracts gnats
The seeds I planted grew well, but this sure did attract the gnats indoors.
